thinking of buying Civic

thinking of downsizing my 2003 accord to a used civic. so, help needed.
what years should I be looking for, how is the gas mileage and what is the most mileage I should be looking for. any help is appreciated.

jk: well if it's fuel you want to save i'd imagine the newer the better and the hybrids are the best in that area.

I heard around here that the first generation hybrids (2001-2005) were known to get some of the best mileage and weren't quite as costly to repair. Just sniff around the forums a bit and you might find the answer. Depending on your driving style, you can probably expect MPGs in the mid 30's at the WORST to possibly over 50 MPG if you drive like a grandma and only on freeways. Won't be too hard with that 1.3L engine :-P

I have two 2001 Civics. I have been getting 24 to 32 mpg depending on how they are driven. 2001 to 2004 Civic are prone to have head gasket leaks and transmission failures. I have had a head gasket failure so I can attest to that. Other than that I really like the cars.
