Genuine Honda or Aftermarket?
Genuine Honda or Aftermarket?
Hi all I'm new here, and fairly new to working on Honda's. I have 2003 Civic LX with a cracked exhaust manifold. It has been welded once before and after 40,000 miles it has cracked again in a different place. I'm going to replace the manifold/cat and I was pricing things out at rockauto.com.
There is a $200-$300 dollar difference between a genuine honda manifold and a factory aftermarket part. Is it really worth buying a genuine honda manifold over aftermarket? Are there any known problems with fitment of specific brands?

If you think a good mechanic is expensive, try hiring a bad one

Genuine Honda will also keep the computer happy.
And the emissions test station if you have to go there.
Cheapo parts are cheap for a reason.
The cheapest people seem to spend the most.
