Is it Worth it

I am disspointed after driving 2k1civic for a year, I got AEM CAI, fully black leather seats, and 50% of the body kit.

Knowing that our car isn't really fast and does not have the power, neither it looks like a sports car, I already stop installing other parts for the time being, not sure is it worth it..
If wanna enjoy performance , why not get a subaru WRX or Mitsuibishi, etc.....

I dun understand why honda, doesn't even want to put a more chunky meaty/sporty steering wheel for the civic, it will not cost them much... They purposely want it to look very family car....

Sorry if I spoil your mood, this is only my opinion after studying cars for many years..

Dun some of you all agreed ???????????

oh....i see.

but i thought most people got the same feeling , wanting their car to look sporty and different , and feel like a performance car... even though there still catch up to be done...

Thanks to this site and you guys , keeps me motivated.

I knew exactly what I was getting when I went to the Honda dealership and paid thousands of dollars for a 7th gen Honda Civic. Common sense would dictate that anyone who is going to spend that kind of money on any kind of a purchase would surely research the product throughly before making that purchase. That being said, all these posts about being people being disappointed with their new Civic because it isn't fast enough or it doesn't look as good as earlier models are just showing their ignorance because they didn't do their homework before they bought the damn car. Grow up! If you want something else, go get something else, but this time make sure you know what you are buying so you won't go whining about that one as well. Geez this is getting old.

Well they ARE economy cars. I bought mine for economy and reliability, and modded it for personal gratification. But I miss having a sportscar. I'm looking into the buying the new Si once I get a new job. Or a 2003 Accord coupe.

i know that most of us aren't going to go this extreme but what about a 6th gen civic(or any other civic thats not a 7th gen) with a prelude engine with turbo n NOS?

i know my car is really slow but i still like it. for $16,000, i dont think you could get a better car. you could go from LA to NY on one tank of gas and ride it for 20 years... well maybe not that far/long but ya its a reliable car and it doesn't eat up alot of gas. it doesn't look too badd either. oh n not to mention it cost like what 10,000 cheaper then a wrx.

LA 2 NY...Yeah Right!!, HAHAHA your funny. My civic made it from LA to VEGAS & back on 1 tank,500 miles. I have NO regrets, BEST car for under15,000 & I could drive it for 30 years.....

And this answer to this isnt obvious? The civic isnt a sports car, it is an econo-box grocery getter family car.

i think it is safe to say that we all realize that our civics, being 2k+ or older, wasn't intended for speed, racing, nor high performance. just like it says on the sticker, its classified as a "Compact".. it doesnt say sports car nor street racer nor "rice-rocket". face it, its an average economy class vehicle aimed at the masses. the fact is, of the countless civics i've seen on the road, the vast majority of the drivers have been female. but this doesn't mean anything. like many of you out there, i love my civic. and before i bought it, i spent countless amout of hours researching what i needed, and what i wanted. though the civic wasnt the best car in the world, i personally think, it was the BEST choice for me. c'mon, what we get for that price.. you cant beat that. and plus.. the civic gets great gas mileage and it has a five star crash test rating making it one of the safest cars in its class and as for looks, personally, i think looks great. im just saying, froget this BS about competition, and which car is better, and which car is faster, just be happy and content in what you have and realize that we are all here because we are enthusiasts, and we do all of this mostly as a hobby. look on the bright side, at least we're not all here trying to trick out a chevy cavalier.
