Motor swap,turbo. Why?

Please expalin why, why would anyone want to swap their new motor? Why not just swap the car? Take it back to the dealer and swap it for an SI or a nissan spec-V. Not only are you going to be at least $6000 in the hole you wont even have factory warranty. I could undersatand an older civic with over 100,000 miles, fully paid off. but why are people exited to put turbos or swaping the engine on a new car. You want a fast car? Trade it in for something else. I'm personally thinking about trading in my ex for a spec-v. We cant get any serious gains in power with our cars with out doing some major warranty voiding modofications. I belive the civic is not a performance modifiers car anymore, I belive people and companies are going to start turning their backs on the car. I think the civic is an awesome car but a sports car is not. I'm already looking for alternatives. The SPEC-V Nissan is looking really sweet to me, I would consider an si, but it looks like a freakin 2 door minivan, what the hell was honda thinking.

this is IMO.

some people have the money to spend for the swap and not be in debt. so they do it because they love their 7thgen, but want it faster. w/o custom turbo or nitrous, swap is another way to get huge HP increase. specially from the k20 swap. if i remember right, its 200hp stock, compared to the 127hp stock on a ex (but produces like 110hp to the wheel or something). and its something different. not everyday you see a 7thgen civic with a k20 engine. or they compete in car shows, and a engine swap like this will definatly turn heads. no doubt about it.

Ok if you want speed, for that kind of money why not get an RSX . If you buy an ex then drop another $7000 you are in RSX range. You want to turn heads just put some nice wheels on the RSX. You got money to burn then buy a WRX.
But why spend $18000 on a civic ex then drop another $10000 to make it faster and still not as fast as an rsx. come on, it makes no sense.

ok 2k1Miami if u drop in a K20 in a civic it will be faster then an rsx. yes they have the same hp but the civic weights less. and we do it to be different and to turn heads. also when racing no one will think u have 200hp under the hood.
