2006 Honda Civic Tranmission Problems
2006 Honda Civic Tranmission Problems
I have recently had some problems with my 2006 Civic manual transmission, mainly switching gears from 2 to 3 (or downshift from 3 to 2) but only when the engine is hot. The gears shift fine when the engine is off or when the car hasn't been driven for too long. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is? I would hate to have to replace the whole transmission ($$$) if it's some minor problem that needs to be fixed. Thanks!

Got clutch fluid?
When was the last time the trans fluid was changed?
Factory fluids?

Re: 2006 Honda Civic Tranmission Problems
I had Honda change the fluid yesterday because it was never changed before, so I thought that it might have been it. Then I drove it in the afternoon and, after 15 minutes, I couldn't downshift from 3rd to 2nd gear. It just wouldn't go to the left at all; like it was blocked. I had to turn the car off, wait for about 5 minutes for it to cool down and then was finally able to put it into 1st and 2nd.
