Change ownership after private party purchase...
Brought a 09 Civic from private party.Do i need to change ownership to get the manufactures warranty ,If so how do i do it.
Its still under 3 yrs(couple of months more) and 36,00 miles.

No, the factory warranty applies to the car, not the owner.
The car also has 5/60 powertrain warranty.
You DO NEED to let Honda (corporate) know you are the new owner, and update the owners info. That way you will receive important correspondence like recall notices, and access to Ownerlink and you can get your radio unlock code and other stuff.
Call the Customer Assistance number.
