Help Somebody!!! I have a 2001 honda civic..the other day when i was driving to work my aftermarket intake came a lose and now my car runs crazy. i reset the computer but still the same problem. when the rpms reach about 4000-4500 the car revs up and down, just like it has a rev limiter on it.. it wont go past 5000 rpm at all. plus its idling wierd and the tranny i shifting wierd did a ..sensor go bad?? the egr valve is what it acts like...

stop in any autozone or similar and have the engine codes read.

I have a stock 02 civic ex coupe and have similar probl with rev limiter feeling at 5k...none of the other problems though...?

May check into your car TPS or Map sensor may lose or broken to cost the problem since you had after market intake come lose...

Need to get a quality intake. (Or at least quality clamps)

It sounds like your car is in limp mode, it has to do with timing, go to your ignition coil under the hood and make sure it is plugged in correctly

Edit: your intake coming loose may have knocked it off
