1st gen: 1972-1977 (my mother owned a '79 it rusted out in 2 years lol)
1972 1200 cc Civic automobile Produced
1973 1500 Civic 4-door and Civic 1500 cvcc automobiles introduced.
1974 Civic cvcc automobile produced.
1977 Honda Foundation established.
1978 Honda of America Mfg., Inc. established
2nd gen: 1980-1984 (I owned a 1980 civic 1500 S, no rust even when I sold it in '97 with 323k km's)
1979 Honda introduces rustproofing agent on all 1980 honda models
1980 CRX introduced 1st gen
1982 honda civic sedan introduced
1982 minor design tweaks
1982 Production of Civic exceeded 3,000,000 units.
3rd gen 84-87
84-87 2nd gen CRX
4th gen 88-91
5th gen 92-95
1992 civic coupe introduced?
1993-97 3rd gen CRX delsol (owned a 1997 VTEC)
1994 VTEC introduced to civic platform
6th gen 96-00 (I owned a 99 civic dx coupe)
1999 minor design tweaks
7th gen 01- 04?

When the 7th gen goes out of prodution is questionable, however with Honda issuing the statement that ALL vehicles will be equipped with i-VTEC by 2005 would mean a redesign, however as honda has done before issuing new motors mid model run, it could go 5years with a k20 equipped coupe or sedan (wishfull thinking)

I like my 7th Gen but still love the engine and the ride in my buds 99 SI, his car gets up and goes. Yeah hopefully a couple years I can sell this ride and take a look at the 8th gen Civic if I like it I may get one or just step over to the V6 manual in the accord starting in 03.

LOL yeah I lived at home till I was 18 and then when I finished up college I moved back home. Still living at home its cheaper and I like my family, plus got to love saving money for the accounts. Also in this economy and job market I couldn't afford living out on my own again.
