Help a fellow civic lover out!

Whats up guys. I bought myself my first civic (and first car) and I freakin love it haha. Its a 98 Honda civic EX. It has a nice muffler on it that gives it a nice low mean sound to it, not the annoying crotch rocket sound. So my question is what should I do to upgrade it and make it faster and more awesome. I was thinking of getting headers on it but im new to this so Im not sure. the engine is just a standard 4 cylinder. thaanks

do whatever you feel needs to be improved. its mostly personal preference and you mod based on things you dont like or want to change. first figure out what direction you want to head in, show or go, mild street, etc. there is not a whole lot of things to really make the car fast, but there are many parts available for almost anything. there are also lots of examples if you stroll thru the member galleries and garages here.

Cold air kit, larger throttle body(requires purchase of intake manifold to match or port out stock to match), tb spacer, hotter plugs, bigger wires than 7.5mm, ignition coil.... those are the basics leaving CAI being the easiest to do, and the throttle body, spacer, intake manifold being the hardest out of the bunch. Many ways to go... Congrats on the car! Good luck!!!

Headers are good, but if you want to make real gains you need to change out the midpipe and complete cat back exhaust as well to reduce any flow restrictions. Megan is good and cheap, it's not worth it in my opinion to spend big on exhausts for d-series engines. K and B engines are another story.
