SE-R Spec v

Ok I've been wanting to test drive this SE-R vspec for a while now and finally got to Tuesday. The newbee salesman @ Nissan took my gf and I down the highway to a 1 mile long circular road in the warehouse district in Arlington. The acceleration didn't impress me too much at first because the guy couldn't drive the car correctly. We took a trip around the road once, flying at about 75mph through the turns. The handling really impressed me. We pulled up to a stopsign and the salesmn showed us 2 skid marks from where a co-worker of his SLAMMED the brandnew disc brakes and made flat spots on the lopro tires. When I got in the car and started driving, the steering wheel vibrated like mad. I told the guy that the wheels prolly had flat spots or the car was out of alignment. GEEZE! They tore this new car up BAD! The tranny was all loose under the floorpan and the shifter wasn't smooth like it should have been. Maybe I should try a different dealer who knows......

Positives: - handling - 180 lbft torque - 6speed tranny - front end aesthetics/looks - cheap $
Negatives: - not being able to rev the car up to 7000rpm b4 shifting. (pretty sure redline on the spec v is 6000 )
- driving a car that's already been destroyed with only 80miles on the odometer
- shisty lookin seat fabrics
- rear end exactly the same as a base Sentra w/spoiler blah

Definitely try another dealer, They tore that baby up. I have an SE-R Spec-V and that baby drives and handles amazingly. As for the rev limiter, it is at 6500 rpm or really close to it. I love the front bumper, sideskirts etc. Seats are quite nice and shifting is quite stiff at first untill you loosen it up after driving it a while. Oh and about the rear end, well thats something all the sentra owners don't like. We are currently looking for some ways to make the backend more appealing, Maxima style lights, Altima syle lights, etc. So far the Altima lights looks like a good shot but we are still looking for some ideas. Oh yeah one more thing, Spec-V owners think that the 6 speed tranny was a mistake, 5 speed would have been better. Peace.

sorry to hear about your dealer, man...definitely try another dealer, the car is simply an amazing piece of machine, and there's no car in that segment can beat what the spec v has to offer for the kind of money...there's something definitely wrong with the car if the steering wheel vibrates, one thing i did noticed about the spec v is that it's such a smooth ride even driving at high speed...the rev limiter is set at 6400 rpm (although some people have said that they took it higher than that)...the 6 speed is gear toward autox instead of the 1/4 mile races, the interior does look cheap compare to other cars, but hey its' a 17K sentra the seats are actually very confortable during long drives compare to my girl's civic ex, i only wish that my car can get the same gas milage as hers...try another dealer, and if you do decide to buy it, you won't be disappointed...

I like the spec v and almost bought one. They look good from every angle but the rear was just so ugly and cheap looking, I just couldn't do it. Other than that, I think it's a nice car.
