happends to the best of us ....but tha rookie part was keeping his foot on the pedal

oh so you dont shift from 1st to 2nd to 3rd, then back to 2nd while its redlined in 3rd? no wonder why i kept on screwin up my friends car...[IMG]i/expressions/laugh2.gif[/IMG] wat a moron. i dont even drive a stick, and i know not to do that
my girls dad (head acura tech) said that they are blowing rsx motors left and right just because of that problem- im just waiting to get my hands on one [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/IMG]
This simply happens because of the 6-speed gearbox of the Type S. Going from 3rd to 4th can result into a downshift to 2nd... and if you're powershifting... consider your transmission GONE!
That is, if you don't put your foot down on the clutch again.
This happens a lot with the Celica GT-S gear box, though their gear box is a lot more difficult than the RSX Type S.
It actually takes a LITTLE getting used to the 6-speed... trust me. The design is different than the traditional 5-speed, and now 6-speed manuals are beginning to take over that tradition in the sport compact class.
I drove that car and I got kinda lost trying to find 4th gear on the freeway with an RSX Type S that started with the mileage of 1 on it! The test drive is fully covered, but that's $500 from my insurance deductable if the transmission blew in my face! Learn from this guy! Get a lil' acquainted with it first before powershifting cuz you know you have to shift quick.
I heard that Toyota dealers will give you a new tranny if a mis-shift occurs on the freeway and the transmission blows with the GT-S.
And yeah, I saw this before but what the hey... it's still funny.
