me and my friend got into a REALLY BIG fight over that and i dont think that it is true at all. I mean c'mon more insurance than a corvette?? yea right, my mom only pays $66 a month and from what ive heard thats pretty cheap. so dont believe everything u see
yah man think about it. there r tons of civs on the road and they tend to be owned by young (sometimes reckless) people. how many 20 year olds you know that drive vettes, mostly old farts goin thru their mid-life crisis.
but a vette is more than double the price of a civic, so im sure the insurance company is gonna charge u more for the vette just in case u total it. And its not just the civic thats makes the list a little suspisious its the #1 most expensive car to insure.... a montero sport!?!?! WTF?? thats a bunch of bull, i highly doubt that a montero sport beats a
Chevrolet Corvette Convertible, MSRP: $42,325 - $51,075
Lexus GS 430, MSRP: $38,605-47,405
Cadillac Escalade, MSRP: $48,735-52,230
BMW 7 Series, MSRP: $62,900-92,100
BMW 5 Series, MSRP: $35,950-69,900
then we have the CIVIC rated as #6 on the list with a MSRP of: $13,995.00 - $18,395.00
On top of that theres the Montero Sport ranking in as #1 with an MSRP of: $22,777-$32,887
think bout it logically, the toyota camery is the #1 most stolen car in America, the 5th best selling car (2001), and more expenxive than the civic and i dont see it anywhere on that list insure.com put up. Makes me think there's something up with that source

It's not that bad. I pay a little under 600 every 6 months for full-coverage. That is with one ticket I might add. I had a loaded 00 v6 accord before and when I got the vic my insurance dropped. Don't worry about it.
19 year old female....2001 Civic DX 5-speed...I have 21st Century insurance... full coverage.... $2078/year... No accidents or tickets in 3 years (knock on wood). My Dad said it should go down by the next bill (July) since I've been with the company for 3 years with a clean driving record. But I'm sure it'll still be pretty damn expensive...
2nd, its prolly under your moms name, thats why its so cheap. The younger you are the more at risk you or. The older you are the more likly your not at risk. The retail of the car doesn't matter, it's the demand for the car. We drive a car that is very very popular for a number of reasons, it's popular, lasts long, not so bad price, one of the safest cars out there, sporty, able to add mods, etc...But the reason you mom pays 66 a month for a vette is because of her age and the likly hood she wont wreck as much as a 16-25 yr old.
I have state farm insurance and pay 912 every 6 months. my insurance went up 60 bucks or so because our cars were reclassified one point higher which means a lot of things. hi theft, better resale (if you can believe that) and also like people have said, cost of repairs...I personally don't mind repiar costs being higher than other civics. many people have rolled their 7th gens and ya know what, everyone of them who was wearing their seatbelts walked away from it (dear god I hope I got my facts right! Edit: I have State Farm Insurance

I'm 22, clean record ever since I got my license at 17, I pay $600 every 6 months with Geico, I have the maximum amount of coverage offered in New York and I also have an umbrella policy.
