Question about rebuilt engines?
Question about rebuilt engines?
I bought my Civ around 2 months ago from a wholesale dealership, and at the time I knew nothin about cars at all the price enticed me and it was from someone I trusted
The mileage on the dash was 112 000 KM, but I was informed later that that was the ENGINE mileage (thus the engine had been rebuilt), and the mileage on the body was 222 000. I spoke to my cousin about this and he told me rebuilt engines are bad and that I wasted my money.
Is this true?

Re: Question about rebuilt engines?
from what i was told the whole engine was rebuilt, new manifold, new intake etc, its a 1.7 L stock engine.
as far as problems, i have some, but i dont know if they are engine related. sometimes the engine vibrates when i stop, but i dont know if thats possibly from the mounts or just the engine itself. i wont lie, im a newb when it comes to cars, this is my first, but i am willing to learn everything as i go.
