i was coming home from arden (sac) and there is a 99 or 2000 SI civic i am not sure how to tell them apart anyways he pulls up to this brand new porsche it did not even have its plates and they are both going around 85 side by side and they both just gun it the civic had 2 have a SC or TB cus the civic was beating it the whole time i could see cus i had 2 get off the freeway im not sure what model porsche it was but it was not a turbo one cus those are hella fast

ive personally watched an si hatch spank a dodge viper, and a 99 si nudge on a supra!

the past gen civics have been very very mod friendly....you can definately put some hp into them.
with the right mods, i totally believe that this si schooled that porsche.

I could see something like that because the 99-00 Civic Si might of had the turbo and kinds of stuff. You can get that baby up to 290 hp, and then maybe even more. Sh*t, i have a video where a civic hatchback whoops on a corvette. So no big deal.

I think since the porsche driver doesn't even have plates yet, he's probably still in his break-in period and doesn't want to risk messing up his car over some little honda. I, too, would take a new porsche, no matter how crappy, over a heavily modded SI any day.

Let me jump in here!!!!

I own a 4.5 L V8 928 Porsche Euro 5 Speed.......now.....I constantly get people of all walks of life wanting to race.......but unless specifically stated before hand on the race distance....all you guys just make me laugh because racing is relative on the street....let me explain with my Porsche.........the 928 is a car designed for the Autoban(sp) not a 1/4 mile track.....so many imports would give me a good run in the 1/4 mile....some would easily beat me with a respectable run......"BUT" in the mile race..I'd SMASH many manufacurers as the top end design of these cars are incredible.........so my point is this......you can not base a race unless, like I stated previously, it is laid out prior to racing.......which who does.....well if I could talk to the guy, when he asked me I'd say "I'll race you in the mile because this car isn't designed for the 1/4 mile race"...or just decline to race period.......SO!!!!...depending upon the Porsche....944, 928, 924,911, 956, Boxster...etc......it is very possible that a well groomed import could have outrun the porsche in the 1/4 mile as you saw...!!!.........calling BS is really relative to any race.......it seems that everyone thinks in terms of the 1/4......I laugh when I tell people that my CIVIC could outrun a Viper,.....in the 100 mile race.......better gas milage...LOL!!![IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]!!!!!..peace!

i dunno....the si would needed to be hooked up to beat a boxster cause i think the boxter has bout 300 hps? and tell u guys the truth i totally agree with allman...when i drive my gsx on the weekends and ppl in a vic, or a n/a car with an exahust try to race me at a red light or some stupid $hit like that (i live in nyc, so many ricers it not even funny) i dun even bother i either let them run off or when i am in teh mood give them a 5 sec head start.. and when i get right next to them i will downshift and when i fly by all he will hear is ppssstttttt from my Greddy bov...haha..cause how stupid can u be tryin to a turbo charged car...in a n/a car with a nasty soudnin universal muffler?? (damn to many cars have those pos these days they soudn liek crap)
