Here's the deal i order a Magnaflow Cat-Back and I want the Kamakazie header. I won't have a cat. converter. Is that a good thing or not. The cat. is built into the factory exhaust manifold. Should i run it without a cat or will ther be like this black smoke everywhere.

sometimes were I live (Ontario Canada) cops run spot checks to see if cars have all appropriate safety features
this includes checking to see if you have a catalytic converter.
If you do not have one they will impound your car and you have to pay ridiculously high fine.
However I have heard without your cat you can gain large hp

Well I don't know about where you are from but here in Cali without a cat you won't be able to smog your car and also I have seen car catch on fire because of the lack of a cat. Just get a high flow cat don't run without one. Silverride is right it is illegal to remove a cat.

Yes it's very illegal to run without a cat in almost all of the states. Get a high flow one.

Its illegal in AZ to move or remove the cat if the car is under 60,000 miles. BUT, Im moving to Montana where there are no emission laws. Kamikaze header here I come!!

yes believe it or not avenger a car can catch on fire because it doesn't have a cat. Also another thing i forgot to mention is without a cat your car will be VERY loud here in Cali the noise limit on cars is 95 decibels and without a cat you would be well over that you need to check your states requirements.

I didnt have a cat on my 95 Accord and never had any problems until it was time to get my emissions check then all I did was put the OEM cat back on and passed with flying colors. I purchased a resonator from Focuz that bolted right in its place and had a straight through design, one of the most noticable increases in HP that I had came from removing the cat. And you wont have any smell problems if you dont have a cat. The only time you will get the bad rotten egg smell is if you cat goes bad and needs to be replaced. And it wont really get any louder, but it will sound a little deeper.

If you do go without a cat how are you going to have your o2 sensors hooked up.

Just how can a car catch fire w/o a cat??? i own cars without cat converters..... AND the cat is not designed to lower the sound, if you replace the cat w/ a pipe and run a nice muffler you can keep the sound down

damn rite i iwll grls do the 'spread eagle" and get patted down ..[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG] and guy can just stay in the car.....but in nyc its very common for cars to not have cats lots of modded cars dun have it....but i am tellin u if u drive behind them u wil need some kidna asthma pump..cause it smell like $hit...[IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/IMG]
