97 Civic Transmission

I just rebuilt my transmission for my 97 stock civic. I can shift into 3-4 and 5.
But not 1-2 or reverse any one have any ideas on what may be wrong??

Yeah, you rebuilt it wrong. Seriously though, you did. I made the same mistake. You probably put the interlock guide bolt in wrong. That's the allen wrench bolt which screws in from the convcave side of the transmission. It's supposed to go into the interlock a certain way. The shift arm B lives in the interlock. It has a high, middle, and low position, and left, center, and right. When you put in your interlock guide bolt, the shift arm B was probably in the wrong position, therefore the guide bolt might have been forced in. I hope you didn't force it in... it's supposed to fit in the cutout in the interlock.

See page 13-29 in the civic shop manual.

Have you check it already?Is it now working properly?I take down this information as a guide if ever i will make a rebuild as well.
