WHy do all of you think altezza's are rice

- they are for 1 a mod!!!
- they improve the looks of the SEDAN
- they arent rice..just improvements!

I don't think they are rice at all. It's just that everybody including their brother, sister, mom, dad, aunt, uncle, friend, sister's boyfriend, and everyone else has them! I may get a set for my sedan at some point. I like the ones that are all red except for the cirlce reverse light.

I personally am not a fan, but hey that's just me, I could care less what anybody else does to their car, just not my taste. I just don't wanna spend the money on lights that can be going into other things that I would rather have, such as stereo and performance.

Hey,

I recently took off my Altezzas on my blue coupe, honestly when I put the atlezzas first on, I really liked it, but since I got a tint, I wanted a more darker look and took them off, and NOW to me (and thats what really counts) it looks better.

I will post pictures later...

I think cheap altezza's are rice. Ones that match the car well are not. So far I only like APC's CF altezza's and TYC's black and chrome altezza's. Lighter colors don't look too hawt with all chrome altezza's IMO. I'm still waiting for some company to release altezza's that I would want to have on my ride though. The point is they don't have to look like altezza's. I just want aftermarket taillights! Aftermarket companies, hear my cry!

To each his/her own. I think the chrome Altezza's look good on certain colored cars, the carbon fiber ones look good on certain colors, and the stocks look good on certain colors. It's all a matter of one's tastes. Personally, I don't think Altezzas are rice either.

A lot of people have rims, exhaust, etc., but you don't see everyone with the same rims or exhaust. On all the cars I see that have altezzas, they all look just a like.

The cheap ones (read: most) look so cheap. Kid toys have better quality plastic than that.

There are a few quality ones that look like real Altezza's. Cheap fakes=rice.....

Only ignorant people think Altezza's are rice. Rice usually refers to something that's put on that makes it look faster or is a fake component that's trying to look like something else. To me, Altezza's are just for aesthetic's. That's it. If people want to make more of it, that's there problem.

I just don't like any of the Altezza's that have been released or I would buy a set, but I got my tint done over them. Rims are next so no altezza lights any time in the future. Plus possibly selling it and my 17 inch wheels I could transfer to my other ride and other mods I have done, Altezza you have to sell with the car or sell them on your own. But all the power to people who wanna put altezza on their rides.

People say things are rice, if the part offers no performance improvement, or if BMW doesn't use them.

Examples
Altezza - Considered by many as rice
Big Rims - BMW has it, betters handling, so not rice (although too big hurts handling)
Blue Bulbs - Not real HID, so no improvement, & BMW doesn't use them, so it's rice
Stickers - No improvement, not used by BMW, so it's rice
SuperWing - Unsure about improvement, causes drag, could add downforce, but not used by BMW, so it's rice
Skirt Package - Unsure about improvement, BMW uses them, so not rice

Definitely not rice. WTF is RICE? Stick with uncle Ben's, quit judging other people's cars, and worry about getting your OWN up to specs. I hate *****'s who will look at your car, see your altezza's, say you're rice, then get blown away by a fr@ggin hyundai ACCENT because not only can they not drive stick PROPERLY, the just can't drive PERIOD. Being judgemental as to someone elses taste is pathetic in the all ways imagineable. Who are we to say that someone else has poor taste in the manner that they modify their car? I doubt that whoever it is had the slightest intent of impressing YOU when they added their mods, whether it be altezzas, a 3 foot wing, or ENOUGH STICKERS TO SUFFOCATE AN AFTERMARKET INTAKE. It's their car, their money, their business, but definitely not YOUR PROBLEM. YOUR PROBLEM is that you're probably judging someone elses vehicle through your OWN DIRTY FR@GGIN WINDOWS.
