I'm a little disappointed they are continuing to use the 3.0L SOHC V6..... they advertise V-TEC & all, but 200HP isn't all that impressive. I was expecting the 3.2L from the base TL/CL in there, making 240HP. Why? Increased competition. I know the Toyota Solara is also only making 200HP, but why not steal some customers from BMW 3-Series? What about the Altima? Hey, steal some from Audi & C-Class too....
I know that is Acura TL/CL territory, but they are also going to come out with new models anyway at around the same time. They can keep the 240HP 3.2L base for the people who don't care about speed (quick enough!), and have a SOHC 3.2L, making around 280-300HP for the Type-S versions. Why? Infinity has their G35, claiming to have some 260HP & 260lb torque... coupe is rumoured at 290HP... now, I know Nissan looooooooves to over-rated their horsepower, but hey, why let them come close? They should continue to be the best-bang-for-the-buck in performance, for entry level luxery class.
