Re: New toys for the Skyline:
well....its been awhile since ive stirred **** up so....

now that the majority of the interior is finished up minus a few minor details (thins still on back order), ive started pissing around with the engine and what-not. Started out by removing the power intake and cleaning that up and re-oiling it, cleaned out the MAF, painted the CAI plumbing, started to polish up the intake manfold by sanding it out (started at 80G then moved onto 220G) then ill use compound once all the flaws have been worked out, etc...

BEFORE

here it is so far: (AFTER)

anyhow, thought id stop by and say hey to you guys

i was just curious why did you wanna buy a NEW carbon hood? you just got that one on it like 2 months ago....
and also why did you wanna replace the rails? it seems like a fairly useless upgrade

but overall one of the cleanest skylines ive seen around, here in canada these cars are a dime a dozen and 9/10 are gappy looking pieces of trash, but that car you got there deff has been taken car of.

I didnt buy a new CF hood, the one i got was damaged in shipping, so im waiting for the new one (same type). As for the rails....no, it is a very useful upgrade,Ive already had the stock rails (currently on the car/modified to fit the RS-1Type race seats) come loose on me while driving...Scary as ****!!
that and the Bride rails are lower in the car, the ones now...im hitting the sunroof beam with my head. The stock skyline rails were only installed due the fact the ones we had ordered were incorrect, so now im waiting for the right ones.

as for the car, when i was looking for a Skyline i was only interested in 2 things!

A. Body had to be in good shape
B. Dash had to be untouched (in most cases youll see these with big holes and **** from people modifying to fit all kinds of things).

Reason for the above^
I knew i was dropping in a RB25DET so the stock engine could be cooked for all i cared, and i knew i could just piece together the rest of the interior such as i have done already, the rest is a cake walk.

thanks.

so knowing that the last thing you ordered from japan took you 4 months to get, what better place to get a set of rims from, then...*drumroll please** ...JAPAN!

Re: New toys for the Skyline:
thanks!
you guys have no idea how nice it is to hear the Positive side of things, i was starting to begin to wonder with all the negativity around here. But hey! past is the past man. Anyhow...on another note, I think i may have my sub box from the 06' Civic sold here. Then this means i can have a custom one made for the Skyline which will be right up against the rear seat in the trunk where ill be mounting it permantly to the steel structure. This time instead of using (x2) 12" woofers, ill be using a single DVC Pioneer Premier in a computer spec vented box which will basically have my brains served to me on a platter. hehe!

next on my dish:

~ Steel headgasket w/ARP studs for new turbocharger.

~ still debating on a top mount manifold for a new turbocharger (turbo being used, unknown at this time?

~ Also debating on using either an FMIC (or) rather modifying one from the R34 which apparently gives +1 PSI alone (equivalant to 10HP)

~ I have a mandrel bent 3" exhaust from the downpipe back, but the DP itself i believe is still stock and has an exhaust leak so ill be replacing that with a 3" DP soon and slapping on a De-Cat.

~ Electronic boost controller (For now, ill boost it up to 12 PSI which is max for the ceramic turbocharger, then after i install the steel internal turbo ill boost that in the 20's or so).

~ Other goodies like silicone rad hoses, alloy radiator, wind deflector, etc....

This will all come in time but im working on getting a steering hub and wheel to get rid of the ratty-*** one on it now, then my interior is completed (Razo **** will be here in a week or so)

Still lots to do, but im having a blast doing this to a car i finally enjoy driving.

Re: New toys for the Skyline:
Another quick update....

~ Finished redoing ALL vacuum lines over to silicone
*just for an idea, this is how it looks now.

~ Routes new vacuum lines for future EBC.

~ 320g Razo shift **** should arrive any time now

~ Wheels...Just found out i wont be getting the SSR's now as they
were 500.00 over budget, but found these and now have officially ordered them. As for the ETA on arrival im unsure but these are the rims im getting now 100%

~ Re-tinted all 3 rear windows 18% Solar Gard film, Looks awesome!

~ My new CF hood arrived today at the shop

~ New Momo steering wheel & Hub

Re: New toys for the Skyline:
New toys Part II

After i cleaned up and painted a few things (which im not too happy with) i managed to get a Greddy FMIC (on its way soon).

Also made up a Grainger valve and tried to dial it up to 15 PSI but the ECU wouldnt have it, so i need an Emanage to get past the limiters set out by Nissans ECU. A friend down the street from me will be welding me up a Turbo elbow, dowpipe and testpipe im hoping in the next few weeks (already have 3" mandrel bent Catback). After these mods then i can attempt to overboost this bitch. But the exhaust & FMIC will definetely help matters out.

Recent pics of the car.... Still have not recieved my new 17" rims (real soon now im hoping). Re-tinted the windows as mentioned, etc...

waiting on my Momo steering wheel sent out yesterday, but already have the hub for it. Razo was backordered so this will be another 6-10 days from now.

im havin fun with it!
