Just traded in my 2001 EX Coupe for 2002 RSX!!

Hi all..I been a Honda Civic owner for years. My previous Civics include, 1994 Civic LX sedan, 1998 Civic LX sedan, and most recently the 2001 Civic EX coupe. I just "joined" the 2k1civic site, but I have been browsing and looking and topics for some time now. But, last night I traded in my EX coupe for the RSX. The great thing is that I got a great deal for the RSX and I am VERY impressed with the performance of the RSX. I love my Civics but man, what a difference. Just wanted to share my experience. I will continue to visit the site and browse, but I will be joining the ClubRSX today. Oh I got a Desert Silver Type-S w/ OEM Wings, & body kit. I plan to get new rims, intake/exhaust, sound system, and JDM HID conversion for my headlight unit. Thanks all

Jeff

Yeah, the stock sub woofer doesn't really do it for me. I like the changer, but overall, it's pretty weak. I like it, don't get me wrong..there is nothing wrong with it, but I would rather have something more in terms of performance. I'm getting a customized Pioneer system installed next week.

The system lacks in many ways. First of all, the sub-woofer is encased with the spare tire to save space. That's perfectly fine and sounds great, but the woofer is TOO small and sounds muffled. BOSE is a great company for Home Audio and there are some great car audio made by BOSE in other cars. It's just doesn't go into the Type-S.

To answer Grifter's question: I got my 2001 EX Coupe w/OEM wings traded in for a excellent amount. $13,250 & mileage was 12,450. When I got the EX Coupe I downpaid, $4,000 w/ a trade-in (my old 98 Civic; I got $8,000 for it, but I still owed Honda Finance $3,000, so the total that I put down for my 01 EX was $9,000). I bought the EX Civic at $16,570 so I had $7,570 left for the car. During the year I had paid off around $2,000. (You guys still with me?) Which means that I owed Honda Finance about $5,500. Now, when I traded in my EX to Acura, like I said, I got $13,250 for it. After paying off Honda Finance, I had $7,750 for down payment. I got my Type-S for $22,046. Sorry for the long explanation. I needed to give you guys some background.

And to answer 01civicboi's question: Yes I joined just to tell you guys that. Do you have a problem with that? I'm excited and I've been coming here to 2k1civic forum for a while.

Peace

Jeff

Get the suspension upgrade so you can almost drive it like a Type R. That is... if you like pain. Congrats.

i disagree, the bose premium systems are great. maybe not in the RSX, i haven't heard that one, but the systems that bose puts in audis are just incredible. i can't imagine how good a system could be in the RSX though, just cause it's a honda/acura. i say go for the upgrade, and sell what you got for good money.
