Insurance Coverage...

Okay so I'm going to have about 10 grand of stuff added onto my car...and I would kinda want it to be insured......

Your premium would go up right...? By how much approx?

Im going to have computer, lcd screen, gps, dvd, 2 Alpine V12 amps, a new HU (don't know which one yet...gotta sell my Sony one first), 2 Alpine Type-R subs, MB Quart Components in the front (retail for over $700), MB Quarts in the rear, Alpine EQ, Koni Stuts, Ground Controll coilvers, Racing Hart 17" wheels, and leather interior, carbon fiber hood, hid, Skunk2 exaust, AEM SRI.....

I have the leather interior, sound system, exaust, and intake right now.....

Does anyone know approx how much my premium will increase...

What you described would probably have an effect on the "comprehensive" portion of your insurance. Comprehensive is optional in my state, as is the case in most other states. If you want specific coverage for each specific item you are installing in your vehicle, you will probably have to document the components with your insurance carrier so that they may re-work your premium by adding or increasing comprehensive coverage.

you should give me the rest of the money that you have for mods... I could use it...sounds like you've got enough already...as for insurance, it really depends....one guy on the forum had his insurance company reject him because of his mods...he ended up finding better coverage for less, including the mods...it all depends

Actually I got an additional 10K coverage on my car with my policy. It cost me an extra 36 dollars a month. It will cover everything interior and exterior. Actually, for an additional 22 dollars they have a "mechanic policy" which will cover repair cost if they exceed 2000. You know like if I blow my engine AGAIN, with NOS or something. It's all covered, not only that, the deductible is still only 500$ NOT all insurance companies offer this kind of coverage, though.
