A Prelude Respects us
- well, here's my story: coming home from work, i notice a 94 prelude (the one with those triangle tailights) pull into a taco bell. well i follow him through drive thru and rev up, he does the same. i wait for him to exit and then he follows me. we get onto a highway doing about 40 off the ramp, he pulls next to me and revs again. we're gonna race. we're still doing 40 side by side. btw, he has another passenger with him. at the same time, we both shift into 2nd and we floor it. get this, we're driving head to head through 4th gear. we're doing about 110. he still can't pull away. i'm like "wtf?"
- we slow down b/c of the oncoming traffic, so we get off together and stop at a 7-11. he asks me what i got and i say an injen intake and skunk2 exhaust. all he has is an n1 muffler. he's still kinda shocked and pissed off so he wants to race from a full stop so i'm like alright.
- we found a strip of highway where no one's driving b/c its 11pm. so we come to a full stop. he has a 5spd but he doesn't rev in 1st gear, i do however. he has a manual. bad driver i guess. well i rev up to 3000 rpms and vrooooom we're off. i take off quick, and i lead by a 1/2 car length!!! it stays like this through 2nd gear. at 3rd he pulls ahead of me by 1/2 car length. at 4th he pulls a 1 car length ahead. he decides to slow down once we get to 120.
- he gets off the ramp and i follow. we again stop at another gas station to talk and he says "i thought the new civics we're supposed to be slow." and i say, "i guess not." he then drives away and then i drive home with a smile on my face.

<< what model. SR? those only have 140hp or something. It's the SR-Vs and the 4ws that are dangerous. lol, the fastest stock ludes. faster than 5th gens. >>
huh? SR? SR-Vs? never heard of those trim levels.
trim levels for a 94 Prelude consist of base (S), Si, Si(4ws), and VTEC.
Prelude base is a joke, anyone can take it out. It has an accord engine. 2.2 liter SOHC.
HP: 135 hp
Torque: 142ft-lbs. @ 4000 rpm
Si has 2.3 liter DOHC, non-vtec
Horsepower: 160hp @ 5800 rpm
Torque: 156ft-lbs. @ 4500 rpm
same goes for Si(4ws)
and the VTEC has the 2.2 liter DOHC VTEC
Horsepower: 190hp @ 6800 rpm
Torque: 158ft-lbs. @ 5500 rpm
each of 'em cash in at about 2,765 lbs
there. some more info to factor in the race.
u guys took the race allt he way up to 120 mph from a dead stop? the race was over long ago...
anyway its dangerous to street race blah blah blah.
Maybe the S, SR, and SR-V designations are only in canada, but i never knew that before.
the S, is just the prelude base, then the SR, is the same, but maybe more options, and the SR-V is the prelude VTEC. I presonally know people that own the SR, and SR-V.

- heh, i thought they stopped making the prelude si after the late 80's early 90's models (you know, the boxy preludes)
