can my prelude win?

alright, heres whats going on. my friend is always bashing my civic, and he has a 97 integra gs-r. so i was stating to get pissed off at him the
other day, and i chalenged him to a race. my mom has a 2001 prelude that she lets me take out whenever i want as long as i wash it. Hes was
like "i am going to burn your civic sooooooo bad" and i was like "who owns and paid for your car", cause i knew his parents bought it for him.
and hes like "technically my parents" and i was like "than im going to thechnically drive my moms car."

so the question i have is do i have a good chance? all he has is a CAI. and i dont think hes any better of a driver. also, like i said, its my moms
prelude, so dont give a crap about the engine. so im going to be really working it.

the only thing that might fu(k me is that the prelude has a sport shifter.

he'll probably win. My friend has a 2000 Sport Shift Lude. and ummm, i can beat him at low speeds. but it does get fast around 80mph. but still, it's an auto.

what trim is the Prelude, that could be a big factor, but I think you can take him.

how would trim affect him? Base is actually faster than Type-SH as it's lighter, but i dont' think they made Type-SH in 2k1. but they all have the h22 with DOHC VTEC. so I really don't see why trim would matter

I thought they just dropped SH for 2k1. If you look you can easily find used SH's in canada.
