Rep Power: 0 not that i want to be blasphemus but i could take a neon sup it up and make it keep up with a suped up gst eclispe. why you may ask because the neon and the eclispe like the talon and the eclipse share the same drive train except neons have a little bit of change to the way the engine is sitting and the intake manifold is made of plastic but other than that they are the same engine and transmision so it would be worth it to hook up a neon cause only the body is american and the engine is import! don't belive me compare when ever you can a dohc neon and a gs eclipse same engine differnt direction in which they are sitting
sorry forgot to mention it was the first gen and second gen eclipes that shred it thaks perfectd3

Rep Power: 0 I think it is the same thing as doing that stuff to our rides. My sisters boy friend has a neon with nothing more than some fuel and eletric mods and it has more ***** than our rides. And my neighbor who builds old hot rods suped up a miata and that thing will scoot!

Well, why would it be a waste? In terms of?
Like because its a Dodge and might not run well after a year or 2, or after it hits 100K.
Like, would it be a waste because the car might not have longetivity?
Or would it be a waste because not matter how much you do the car will still be slow?
Or is it something else?
Just to clarify.

Alright, you need to do some HW, friend. The Neon DOHC and the Eclipse/Talon both have the same engines for 1st gens. Eclipse GST and the Talon Tsi have the 4G63 engine/drivetrain, the Neon does not. I don't remember the Neon's code, but the Neon only shares the same engine with the NA Talon/Eclipse, it definitely does not share the same engine as the GST/Tsi/GSX/ or GS. If you are talking the DOHC and GS eclipse engine (GS denoting 1st gen Turbo), they are not the same, and they do sit in a different direction because the 4g63 is the imported Mitsubishi engine, while the Neon's DOHC is a Daimler/Chrysler engine. Thus, this sharing of drivetrains is what made up the DSM agreement. circa 1990 to the releasing of the 3rd gen eclipse in 00 (I don't remember exactly what year the new ones came out, but that was the end of DSM)

Rep Power: 0 im gonna go back a year to when i had the neon dilema....
If anyone recalls i made a post about a friend of a friend and his constant ridiculing of my civic...... and my friend jumped in and said, yeah, the neon will take you.....
well, after actually running the race....I know that the neon has NOTHING.....it was a full car length up to about 100 km/h and then it was lights out and i pulled away the rest of the way......

Rep Power: 0 The neon engine did not even appear until late 1994 in 1995 model cars (eclipse, sebring, talon, neon, stratus, etc.) Prior to 1994 all non turbo DSMs had either a 1.8L SOHC or 2.0L DOHC non turbo version of the turbo engine.
<< Like because its a Dodge and might not run well after a year or 2, or after it hits 100K. >>
Or maybe after 6 years and 11000 miles (including autoxes, lap days, and drag racing) it'll still run great and the compression tests out to within 1% of factory spec on all 4 cylinders.
<< I know that the neon has NOTHING..... >>
It wouldn't be safe to assume that all neons have nothing, just your friend's as he's probably a rice lier with a SOHC or one of the worst driver's evar.

That's unpossable.

How am I flaming? Your entire argument was that it was Neon. When anyone could say that it's a honda, chevy, etc. Point is, that for what the 2001 Civic is, it's not fast, and I would rather pick a neon.
If I wanted to flame I would tell you to STFU, go back to the third grade and learn how to spell, and when you find something that will help you get your foot out of your ***, come back.
Oh and this board is pretty g@y, not allowing curse words, how old are you guys? 16?
