just got this car off a friend for really cheap. car had a couple problems and didnt run. ive been fixing the last couple days. now the thing cranks over but there is a terrible, ear piercing sound that comes from the engine when you start it. the car wants to die right away if you dont have your foot on the car keeping it alive. i dont see anything rubbing belts, there is smoke comign from the header bay but there is a cracked in the bottom part of the header which it could be coming from. any ideas?


also the car sat for anout 8 months, we put some new oil and gas in it. has fresh plugs and a whole new distributor.
