tried diy clearing lights. i failed!!!!!

the instruction didn't tell me how to remove the glue sticky stuff the easy way. i tried everything but coulnd't get the head set to open. and the instruction were missing some steps. i had to remove extra screws and nuts. for the guy who made the diy. shame on you.!!!!! anyone have any suggestion to open the headlight set? i spent last 4 hours trying to clear the light but i failed. so i decide to give up.

Put the headlight in the over for 7 minutes @ 250 degrees preheated. This is the easiest way to open the headlights and it works for the 6th gen Civic headlights, too. If you need anymore help, just PM me as I've cleared headlights soooo many times.

LET THE FLAMING BEGIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

edit: well i feel bad, so sonic was right, u can preheat the oven and throw it in there for few minutes, dat way you will soften the gooey stuff and u can just separate them easily. dude u got a sedan right, well i have a sedan too so tell me how it goes?
i may also consider saving extra bucks just in case i fock up the lights.... that's why im saving for now. hehehe

GOOD LUCK MAN, post pics later when done!

i did preheat but the sticky glue stuff keeps on sticky back. and don't preheat cuz it cracks the chrome pieces. part of mine is crack. but not visible when hood is down.

and FutuRisticCiViC
ur a homo so shut the f&ck up. i did research. and everyone makes a mistake. so let the flamming stop.

compared to the coupe...the sedan is hard as hell to split...it'll take a little elbow grease to split the badboys apart...

i've done both and i hate the amount of work involved in clearing the sedans

yeah, sedans are a pain in the ***, it took two people for me to do it, one with a knife and hairdryer, and the other pulling it apart. took me about 4 hours. having a partner helps, so try that too. they must use a different glue on the sedans or something, but i don't know why they would do that.

LOL... whoever said to put their headlight in the oven is stoopid... doood... just use a friggn' hair dryer... put it at the hotest setting and be patient !@!!!! you gotta put the heat on a specific area and slowly pry the lens from the initial housing with a screwdriver... it helps sometimes if you have an knife handy to cut the soft goo...... take your time if it's your first time doing this... i took my time and i didn't forget any details such as cleaning the friggin chrome and the inside of the lens ..... lets not forget taking the time to seal the lights CORRECTLY!! !!!!!!! bottom line... take your sweet **** time !!!

Sedan....manufactured in Japan....Japan uses a Grey glue = MUCH harder to remove (approx 5 hours to clear your head lights).

Coupe.....made in USA....uses black glue......easy to take out (approx 2-3 hours).

Does that help?

jeez guys, i never expected u will treat me this way once i became back to a JUNIOR MEMBER.
weird how u mistreat the members just by looking at the left status.

if i get back to my old name, im sure u will not treat me bad like u do now as i am a newbie in this name.

DATS SOME SHAME DUDES.
like ive said before, we need to cut some slacks with the newbies because they're here to learn, and thus we old members need to do help more than bash cuz we know better on our part and at the same time, we make them feel welcome.

POINT MADE.

You failed to learn how to clear headlights the easy way. Obviously, despite your previous status, you act like a junior with no experience only going by a poor level of logic to prove something you've never done before. I hope you feel welcome.
