All you gotta do is take out the tails, black out some OEMs, kill the grills and badges , kill the cf lip or paint it black, and you are pretty much done. Exhaust is big but it could be lived with until you find something you really want. I'd buy it for 6 lol

In my paper, a 01 ex runs about 8-10k..... so yea, if i had 2k, this would be a very nice upgrade.

i wouldnt do over 5k just for the fact that you cant get hardly any resale out of it because of the swap, nevermind the rice. if you gonna do a swap, do an a2... otherwise just turbo the d17 for hella $$$ less... not to mention the turbo can come off....

the only way i'd buy that car is to part out all the ricer parts to some teenagers, sell the motor and use the subframe to drop an a2 in there.

i dont get y u all say the car is only worth 5k..... my 01 ex is worth 8k with 100k miles on it..... who really cares about resale value if you are gonna sell it to another car enthusiast. Resale value is only low if u are selling to a random person or to the stealership. As for thew A3... its still a good motor that responds well to bold ons. In my city paper, a 04 ex is going for 9.5k and thats completely stock, manual, and 80k on it.
Now for 500 more 10k (shipping not included for this guys location) a buyer could have a car with 20k less mileage, and 70 or so more ponies. Why is everyone hating on this. Yea i understand hating on all the "custom fabrication" he did to his exterior, and partial interior, but its still a good deal.... Doesn't any sort of k-swap with tuning come to at least 7k thats thats even for the A3.....just to get it running smoothly with no maintenance required lights, and all that nonsense.

no one puts a k in their em2 to shift at 3-4k rpms.
however someone who drives an EX might...you know the motor's been beat on, stock internals, who knows how long the car will last. who knows if the people who did the swap really did quality work. everything could work fine for now, but what about 2,3, or even 5 years down the road?
that's the risk you take when you buy a modified car, you don't know how it was maintained or what work was really done on the car. that's why i wouldn't offer more than $6k.
