Propane injection
This may be a way for us to actually run some boost with our civic. Propane injection is like a alt. fuel, it has the octane rating of 110, with the benefit of cooling as well. Unlike nitrous where you have to increase your fuel, you can leave your settings the same, if you inject alot of propane then you DECREASE the amount of fuel you put into the engine or something like that. This is also good for running more nitrous, the domestic crowd have kits that are sold as propane/nitrous injection. I just found out about this so I dont really know to much. But here is a link so you can read up on it click here
Yes, nice idear. Yet, propane is
1. More unstable than unleaded gasoline
2. Much more volatile than unleaded gasoline
3. Runs at a much higher pressure, increasing our already high compression (ie. It's kind of like FI)
4. My personal opinion is that N20 is safer, and I don't even like N20
5. I do not believe our car handle it, but I am unsure of this.

Before you guys reply you should read the thread that I linked, guess what, propane is not a power adder, it is considered fuel!!!! Plus dont you see all those diesel trucks running around that has a sticker saying powered by natural gas, yep thats propane, have you ever heard of one blowing up, I havent.

One of the benefits of propane is that it comes out in vapor form. The argument that EFI manifolds were not meant to "flow" liquids through them does not apply to propane for this reason. If a runner runs a cylinder lean by supplying more air to it, it will also supply more vapor to that cylinder, causing just as much propane to reach it as air. Propane is easiler to install and has less to fail, it also comes out colder (-45 below zero) so it acts as an intercooler as well (i'm going to put installing it on my Lightning soon) -- It is not considered a power adder, so you could run it in a single power adder class, it is ~110 octane, so you can run more boost on pump gas, it is a fuel (unlike water) -- so if you are pushing the limits of your stock fuel system, you can turn up the wick and make more power, and use the propane to accomodate it.
Dangerous? I'm not sure how. Its no more dangerous then a nitrous kit.
Many vehicles (cars and trucks) run entirely on propane. Many vehicles (especially diesels) have been running propane injection for a very long time with no issues. Many performance vehicles (vipers, C5 corvettes, LS1 Fbodies) have been running propane in conjunction with nitrous for >2 years now (at least) without any issues. Just like any other mod you do tho, excercise common sense, and you should not have ANY problems. Propane has an advantage over nitrous in that it is not stored in NEAR as much pressure as NOS... I dont want a 900+ PSI bomb going off in my car, regardless of if it is flammable or not.

And what about METHAN injection. All we would have to do is to fart in the tank...

propane kit for sale
it's on the left side links
If it does safely work, that's sure a cheap way to add some power... a drawback to nitrous is the cost of refilling the tank, and propane is very very cheap and easy (but not always safe) to store because it expands to gas when released from the tank.

I think I might try it, if I get a good deal on that NX group buy thats going on, then I'll have JC at under pressure fix up a propane kit for me...this should be interesting...If I do it I will be sure to tell you guys...and if it doesnt work then you guys will see my bbq'd *** on the news.lol
Difference between N20 and propane. N20 go boom because of pressure, takes out your car and the shrapnel tears up anything within 20 feet. Propane go boom because of pressure or spark, takes out your car, and anything within a block radius will smell like BBQ! Yummy.
My Point: Propane is not safer because it is still pressurized AND with a spark goes BOOM! N20 isn't flammable!

There are tons of people out here in AZ that run on propane. There was a fiasco a year or two ago involving a huge tax break if your car is running on clean fuels ie. propane. My buddy has a Silverado crew cab that runs on propane. It seems safe but they do have problems with it stalling sometimes but not that often. There is also a girl at my work that has a Cavelier (I hate those) that runs on propane. She got into a wreck with it and nothing blew up.
