Goddamn RSX Type S... !

I just happened to jump on Car-Stats.com to look for the times the ITR has. Then I was curious about how the RSX Type S did in comparison and WTF... the Type S that replaces the GS-R does better in the quarter mile than the old legendary Type R. (Type S does high 14s, Type R does low 15s. The Type S is about .4 seconds faster.) All I have to say is that I'm impressed... a faster GS-R (which did low-mid 15s). When the RSX Type R is unleashed to us... that car could be pretty interesting, eh? Overall, I'm glad Honda is making their Integras faster, or we'd just have another car to look at that's just the same ol' same ol' in performance. I just had to say that.

Still want a 2k1 Integra Type R, though.

The Type S's aren't that bad......I would be more than happy to race one in my car to see how it stands up against it....I my car may be a little faster.....since I have test driven the RSX Type S multiple times....

Wow!! If the Type-S pulls low 14's stock I think that would prove decent competition against a bonestock S2000. What do you guys think??

I wouldn't hold my breath for the Type R RSX....if it does come to the states, it will be awhile !!
Some are saying it will never make it due to emission standards, but who knows for sure...only Honda !!

If you look at the pattern in which Honda releases a high performance model Type R for their Integra, and an Si model for their Civic, it's not too hard to predict that the Type R will return for 2003/2004. I'm sure it'll make it here. Honda can make the Type S an LEV car, what makes the RSX Type R so different? Help me understand that...

the type s does not pull low 14's stock

most mags could get a best of 14.9 out of it (but several owners have gotten 14.6 after the car has adjusted after the break in period)

a stock itr can also do mid - high 14s...so its an even shoot and depends on driver

it all boils down to the itr is lighter but the type s has lots more torque and wider tires (on the track...the itr will pull lower lap times than the type s due to its single minded nature and lower weight)

I am not suprise RSX Type R will comes out , but most important will it comes to United States, Japan and Europe have all the fun, and not us RSX Type R will compete with the heavy weight Subaru WRX and Mitsu Lancer Evo VII, and the Type R will be the under dog with NA engine. Type R all the way, baby. No reason, just love the screaming sound of Honda's small displacement iVTEC engine that hype me up, desperately wanting to drive it, hehe

alright.....for the 50th time everyone.....
according to 3 different Honda/Acura Reps. that i have personlly talked to......the Civic type R and the RSX type r will be in the states around the end of 2002 or beginning of 2003

and if the integra type R is up to emissions standards....then why would the Civic-R and RSX-R be any different???

it'll be here soon....

This has got me pulling my hair out, well, what is left of it anyway. Anyhow, I keep debating whether to pour money into my vic or wait for the type r. I know I won't be able to get much back out of the parts. I don't know...

hmm, I personally don't know if I try Car-Stats.com... here's an example.. check out the Civic Si times here... they differ by almost an entire second for the 0-60 times...

The K20A engine in the new Type R is 220hp I dont know the torque on it..however it isnt as loaded up with "mods" as a Type S would be..typical Type R's dont have Moonroof or Cruise Control.

Sonic, mag stats are usually off...people with Type S' over on Club RSX usually dont post much about winning against Type R's..infact some ppl over there think the Type R has advantage over Type S.

I'm sure the Type R will be faster than the Type S. It deserves to be. I was talkin' to my bro about it and he agreed about the fact that Honda's gotta improve upon their Integra line. I SERIOUSLY WISH HONDA WOULD DO THIS TO THEIR CIVIC LINE! Sure our EXs have more torque... (which only few claim to feel when compared to older Civics) but I guess they still have to be Civics, eh? I would've never thought once that Honda dogged the new Civic Si with the redline of a regular Civic... but maybe over time, the new i-VTEC can prove to be just as worthy as the 99-00 Si.

JoeB16: I believe the Type R is faster than what car stats.com had after talking with my bro about it (ha, his name happens to be Joe, too... owns a GS-R at that) I heard from him that you can buy a suspension upgrade for the Type S that I guess is supposed to be as good as the one as the Type R's... or is the same. That's new info to me.

Neo: Hehe, I'd have to see them race for myself you know? That would be a nice *** race. Or just see how one person does with both cars. I've got my money on the Integ.

word.

whoever got that time, didn't push it to its limit. ITRs can do 14s. I duno about low 14s. but mid and high shouldn't be a problem.

it'll take out the rsx type-s in every performance aspect.

In comparison to the GS-R, I like the GS-R better than the Type S. The Type S is quieter, looks better inside, has a clutch as easy as the Civic's, 6-speed, and is faster than the GS-R. The GS-R I drove was not stock unlike the Type S I drove, but there are just some things about the Integra I appreciate over the Type S... just little things, like the sound of the loud *** engine and the reputation of the Integra. I just hate that right when the Integra was axed for the new 4th gen Integ, the RSX... that when I discovered my love for cars... and it's gonna be harder for me getting that Type R I want but I'll get it. Then we'll see if I truly deserve that car. (Hell yeah I do!)

Supposedly what is gonna make the type r rsx throw out quite a bit faster times is an LSD. I've read that estimated times on a rsx-R as right at 6.1 0-60. Its all in the traction.

Wow... if that car can run high 5s, maybe I'll just wait for the RSX.
