I'm a dead man!!!!!!

Ok I have a new Civic it's an awesome car, up until now. My little bro with the help on my parents is getting a hybrid 1989 CRX with a full B16A swamp ACT clutch, light flywheel, headers, full Thermal catback exhaust, AEM intake,17" rims, pulleys, cam gears. Engine has only 40.000 miles on it and the car looks great inside and out. I already told him if he wants to switch i'll do it. My friend has the same set up and its a beast. It has beat every v6 mustang we came across and many diff cars. I love my Civic but I will be put to shame every time we go against each other.

I love CRX's. I want one but i don't want to get a car that is that old. How did you find one with 40,000 miles on it, that is pretty good. I wish i would have seen that when i was looking for a car. That's sweet.

I believe a B16A puts out 160 hp but as far as torque goes let me guesstimate a # around 135 ft.lbs.

111lb-ft. Jon. and it depends on if it's the JDM b16a or the USDM b16a.

I think the JDM puts out 170 and has i higher redline.

heres an idea...you should sell your car...get a 92 civic HB, and drop a JDM H23 engine into it. 220hp on that car will make your brother sorry!!!

there's lots of misinfo on b16as...there are several versions with different characteristics

the b16a1 (jdm only) cable tranny 160 hp and 114 lb ft tq (non obd)
the b16a2 (jdm only) hydro tranny 170 hp and 115 lb ft tq (obd1)
the b16a3 (del sol vtec and civic si usdm only) hydro tranny 160hp and 119 lb ft tq (obd 1 and new is obd 2)
the b16b (jdm only) 185 hp and 125 lb ft tq (obd 2)

as for a crx with b16a they run low-mid 14's
current v6 stangs run mid to high 15s (no chance unless you aren't racing)
5.0 1993 and older gt and lx coupes ran low-mid 14's (good race depends on driver)
1994-1996 5.0 gt coupes ran mid-high 14's (good race depends on driver but crx has advantage)
1996-1998 4.6 gt coupes ran low 15's (early 4.6s were weak and in heavy bodies) (crx has advantage)
1999+ non svt or cobra coupes ran high 14's (good race depends on driver but crx has advantage)

I've really come to the conclusion that the 7th gen civic is going to need a lot moe than I have to make it go fast. To make it look nice, it's a snap, but for speed..... More $$$ than I have

the b16a3 is not in the Civic Si its the B16A2, your codes are wrong- the cable and hydro JDM's are B16A, and the B16A3 is in the Del Sol DOHC...B16B is the Type R motor (not a B16A)

hey now, I'm a "little brother"... currently I'm driving a 2002 Civic LX, and my older brother is driving my old 1989 Mazda 323 hb.

Little brothers are the underhanded all throughout life... give your little brother the satisfaction of knowing he can hand your *** to you repeatedly... we little brothers just don't normally get that sort of satisfaction in life

It is only after you understand a life of "hand-me-downs" that you can truly understand hehehe
