I'm really tempted on getting another car.
I'm really tempted on getting another car.
I just want to see if I could. I wanna know how much an EVO IX or IX SE would cost me monthly. I want something else, If not the EVO, than a Type-S. 2006. Why the HELL are those damn EVO's so DAMN expensive!!!!????. That drepresses me to HELL!. I wonder whats the CHEAPEST monthly payment anyone's ever gotten for an EVO.....?. I still owe 8K on my 02 EX coupe, but it's in good shape and I either should get it paid all in FULL or have maybe 1000 from it after trade in. It's not in bad shape, god I feel like sucha punk for selling out on my EM2!. I don't have any money down. All I have is my car and a credit score of 655 (could be higher by now) and a good credit history on things and bills being paid for on time all the time. Everything seems to be good for the deal to "WORK OUT" but I'm afraid of the dissapointment on NOT getting what I like!.....this sucks!.
evo's are expensive because there aren't too many of them. supply and demand. Also it has a beautiful stock turbo motor. I want one too but they dont sell 'em in Canada.
Have you considered buying a 2nd hand..?

dude, if youre worried about what one will cost a month, you cant afford it. not only could you not afford the payment, you couldnt afford insurance. the trade in value of an em2 with 8 grand left on the loan isnt going to put a dent on the sticker of an evo. i know it was true when the evo came out, not sure if its still a fact today or not, but the evo had the most powerful production 4 banger in north america and its boosted. you might as well be trying to buy a ferrari. not trying to burst your bubble, but ive been down this road. the evo is a bad **** and youll pay for it, if youve got the cash. but with no money down and a civic for a trade in, good luck.
man, this is TERRIBLE NEWS!. eh, i wasn't holding my breath anyways. i was just complaining mainly cause i can't afford an EVO and i wish they weren't so damn expensive. I guess the only damn car i'm probably going to be able to afford would be a DAMN Scion TC!. where's the winning lottery numbers when you need them right?. i wonder how much a Type-S would be.....?
exactly.
I look at all of my friends who have sick rides and are always able to get sweet mods, but they're not in school. They might have a really nice car right now, but I figure I'll just wait it out a couple more years (or maybe more than a couple if I decide to go for a masters degree), finish school, and then hopefully have a nice house with a garage to put a sweet car in.

You're the same age I will be in a month or two, and i'm betting our financial situations are similar. I understand your bitch here, but really, stop whining. What all this comes down to is priorities. I could afford an evo, if i wanted to work all the time, and/or move back in with my parents. For now, I'm willing to drive a civic, and for the most part enjoy it, because I have money left over for necessities like gas, insurance, rent, groceries, etc. And, I still have cash to go out drinking, or to dinner with my g/f and for other hobbies like my computers. I think you could probably swing an evo, if you gave up a lot of other expenses. Personally, I'd pay off the civic, and start saving up for a down payment. It might take a few years, but you'll still be young enough to want a fast car and there might be something even cooler than an evo out by then. You could also consider something like a WRX, not quite an evo, but a hella lot better than a civic. And, according to a certain owner that spent a lot of time on here, insurance is cheaper on the rex than on a civic, because the rex is considered a family sedan. Think about it, and let us know how it works out.
yeah, you guys are right. I need to stop complaining. i was just thinking that i'd love an EVO. doesn't mean that i would've gotten one. boy do i love those cars though. I never thought of the WRX being cheaper. i always thought it wasn't no more or less than the EVO. Thank god i take care of my little civic, cause it's probably all i'll have for a longass time!. My gf and i are looking into getting ourselfs into our very first home anyways. it would be stupid of me to be selfish and do something like this. a home is MORE important!.

Then after some years if u still have the craving for an evo and you are about to buy a new home...you will have some leftover money. Yea u prolly should invest that money u get... darn i hate thinking the right way... y cant it just be cars, girls, and fun ya know.... stupid life
... stupid responsibilites yeah i guess a home is more important. i'm thinking of getting into a new condo home. paying rent is getting to be a bitch cause rent can get like a house mortgage payment!!!. sucks that things are getting too damn pricey in the world. "rent money is DEAD money". we're paying 770 dollars a month for a 1 bedroom 1 bathroom apartment and next year the lease (if we end up staying) will be about 930 a month!. what kinda **** is that!!!? so i think it's time to get our own place. renting just isn't worth it anymore. Florida is getting F'ing expensive!!!. what kinda cars do you guys want if you dared to try?

its $1k a month for a 1bed in cali.
But back to your question..pay off the civic first then see if you can afford. If your going to finance your car, your going to get raped on interest with a 655 credit score. You need a minimum of a 680+ credit score to get a good rate, 700 for the lower % interest rates.
Lowest price for a evo i've seen is $23k, $18k for a salvage title one. It'll probably be $400-500 a month with nothing downed and about the same for insurance.
A used type S goes for around $16k. You can get a used wrx for around $16k-18k
I can try buying a base rsx for around $14k.

you have to look at what you want out of the car, have you thought about other cars that would be an upgrade from a civic. I understand your money woes man, everyone has them (everyone that drives a civic, including me) by the way, i'm in med school rightnow, so i totally feel the money problem. however after i get done parting my civic, and cover my payments, i really want the new evo x, however i doubt that it would be smart at this point, so i'm looking into something more sensible. Looking to get a hot hatch, rightnow its a toss up between the MS3, and the GTI, leaning more towards the GTI because its classier and looks much better, plus with an apr stage 2 upgrade (ecu flash and cat back) they are consistently putting down 250 +whp and just under 300 lbs. its really amazing, also the hatch would be practical to use rightnow, because its just me, and friend and woman, you know, so no need for 4 doors, when i get done with school, i'l go buy whatever i want (skyline baby!) I know it sucks to make compromises, i know, because i've had to make plenty. i wanted a wrx back in highschool but i couldent get it, so i saved money and turboed my civic, and i gotta admit it was alot of fun and i learned alot about cars, modding, mistakes that i wont make in the future, etc. i would say a civic is the perfect car for someone to have and learn on.
just consider some of the other cars that are coming out, that are more of a bang for the buck. and if still your stuck on an evo, go to evolutionm.net, because come this time 2008, you can bet there will be alot of older evo's going on sale for cheap.

yeah i totally understand!. it sucks to see all these young punks with EVO's and STI's that abuse them and are probably taking advantage of them too!. i can wait for a little longer till the right time comes. i love driving and to have a car that looks good with lots of power when you need it and well made with a good name is something that is my WHOLE reason for wanting. i'ma driver and i'd like a "drivers car". but i'ma poor man, and i drive a poor mans car. i noticed alot of you guys seem to like to steer more torwards the WRX STI subaru's....why?. HONESTLY, if you guys had the chance to pick between an EVO or a, say.....WRX STI Limited or not. which would you choose?

dam u still owe 8k for an 02 civic. You might as well keep it and pay it off.
Ive got an 02 civic thinking of trading it in for a wrx seeing that the insurance is a lil cheaper than the civ.
