I'm really tempted on getting another car.
man, this is TERRIBLE NEWS!. eh, i wasn't holding my breath anyways. i was just complaining mainly cause i can't afford an EVO and i wish they weren't so damn expensive. I guess the only damn car i'm probably going to be able to afford would be a DAMN Scion TC!. where's the winning lottery numbers when you need them right?. i wonder how much a Type-S would be.....?
A scion what **** is this this is even more selling out on the civic just so you know that the scions are slow as dog **** slower than a civic i know this because i work at a toyota dealership that is embarassing you would even say that and as far as the type S acura got rid of the rsx and the tsx is the lowest grade you can get besides DSM's are complete **** they are always breaking
well, the scion tc seems like a cheaper car. i'm VERY sure i'd be able to afford one of those RIGHT NOW LOL!. I wonder how much the monthly payments would be BOTH for the car and car insurance for the WRX STI
from earlier about my financial situation, how much the STI would be when compared to those stats. anyone know?

Talking about Oklahoma, I live in Durant OK, and I pay $395.00 for a 3 bed 2 bath house in town with 3/4 acre of property. Just the wife, myself and the dog. My 02 Civic EX Sedan costs me $327.00 a month almost as much as the house. LOL

so
$17k +8k + $2k for tax license = $27k on top of that another $1350 for interest (average interest rate 5%) = $28,050 for a scion TC.
You really want to pay $28k for a scion?
The payments on a wrx sti is the about the same as the evo. The sti is only a little bit cheaper.
$28k can get you a new evo, g35 or a low end is250.
Just be smart with your money man. People buying stuff they can't afford is what gets people in trouble. Not hating, just giving out some free advice.
oh ok, it's totally all good guys. thanks for the advice. i was just wondering about the STI cause it IS a bit cheaper and less wanted as the EVO. and i can't see myself paying 28K for a TC...NO. i don't think it'll be that much anyways. and to clear something up. i didn't buy my EM2 brand new from a dealer. i bought it for 10K-11,200 dollars with tax/tag etc. got a loan from my bank and paid it like that. i've only had the car for about a year and a half and i owe 8K so far. someone said earlier that they were shocked. well i've only payed about 3K so far for this used EM2. it's not that expensive for my first car cause it's only 225 a month with a 7.50 interest rate. which i guess at 225 a month isn't bad. if any of you guys live in Florida and know of the bank Suncoast FCU. you know that, that bank has the lowest rates in FLORIDA period!. i feel like i may have a chance on affording something "greater" than what i have now. i don't believe i'll be negative on my car if i were to trade it in cause it's in good shape as far as the interior and engine etc. the outside has it's dings but nothing major. i bought it dinged and it's only a matter of time before i atleast checkout something else. hey, it's worth a shot is it not?. besides, working at Harley Davidson and knowing that the sales manager there knows the sales manager at the Toyota/Scion dealership could come in handy cause i might be able to not get F'ed! badly from that. i want a REAL car but nothing more than 33K if i could find out that it's affordable. it's always worth a shot. OR, i could just stick with my EM2 and pay it off.
You have an 02 EX coupe that you owe $8k on and think that you're going to have $1000 after trade in....most likely not going to happen. I have an 01 EX couple with 68k miles and the most I've been offered on trade-in is $6-7k because most dealers won't give you a dime for mods. Good luck though....
you seem like a cheaper is better sorta guy, go buy a SRT4 youll be alright for payments and insurance isnt too bad... just prepare to get ragged on by people saying its a neon.. cuz it is haha a fast one tho
yeah it may not be worth the "slaving" but atleast it's kinda worth a try JUST to see what my numbers would look like. ofcourse i'd be expecting them to tell me to go "F myself" but it's still worth a shot. An SRT-4 is an ok car but it's not what i'm looking for. it IS fast though. and my car doesn't have many mods. just wheels and tires. OH, and an AEM V2 intake, thats it. it's more stock than anything else.
well, your car with an aem intake and **** for mods, wouldnt be able to even keep up with an srt4, honestly if you want cheap speed thats the way to go.. Evo and sti are way out of your league.... tho it is nice to dream, but you gotta be practical about some things.. Evos are getting cheaper, ive seen first gens going for 20,000 so id just wait and pay off more on your vic so it will be a better trade in value.. then pounce on an evo.
Bs
thats BS where do you live?
I live in san diego on mission bay and pay 1175 a month for a 1 BR 1 bath 700 sq feet oh and i have a garage.... man im getting ripped off, but at least its close to work haha

heres something you can put into perspective based on demographics. I live in CO and through USAA I got a car loan good for up to 50K bones on 5.9% APR, my credit rating is only a 690ish, I pay 1350 for a 5 bed three bath house/ month (split between a total of 4 people though.) And with this advantage of being in CO Im buying a 07 STi once my tax refund gets in. My other advantage is that I have had my 01 civic for five and a half years. and i owe nothing on it. So if I were in your shoes, find a different place to live(state) or find a way to improve your car while paying it off to make yourself appreciate it even more to temporarily get your mind off the EVO

RIGHT ON MAN!, I like that. thats true to do that. everyone that lives in other places are lucky cause FL is stupid pricey!. I'll have to try sometime with the trade in or to see what the payments are or would be for me. yeah i seem to be crazy for even THINKING i could do this but i'd like to see. i guess i should save up a few G's and THEN look around. that IS if we don't end up getting a house or place of our own. i went on my insurance company's website the other day (progressive) and seen how much the insurance would be for me if i owned a Impreza WRX but it didn't have the option to pick "STI" don't know if the "Impreza WRX" falls on the same catagory as the regular sedan WRX but it's only comming up 11 dollars more than what we pay now. when we pay for our cars insurance, we're paying for BOTH cars. (250). the insurance for a 2007 WRX for us would bring the insurance to 261 or something like that. i'm guessing that the insurance isn't much. but the payments MONTHLY would KICK MY *** HARD!. i'm thinking i STILL could pay 600 dollars a month for 60 months for a STI. thats ofcourse given that the insurance isn't TOO high in which it ISN'T as i guess i found out the other day. i dunno, maybe it IS way outa my league but like i said before, it's still worth a try. sucks to be negative about it all though.
you can get whatever car you like, just be careful man. Theres nothing worse than getting your dream ride, falling behind on payments, then losing your dream car. Buy smart, YOU ARE THE BUYER and you have the money, remember that and dont get rushed.
oh ofcourse man!. i'ma bail the first chance i get when i TRUELY realize that i can't afford it. all it's going to take is for the salesman to tell me that it's going to be my "soul" and most likely my "first child" for the monthly payments. it's all good, i may back down from this all. i don't know how things are going to end up but i sure as hell know that if we don't get a house in which that's already seeming to look kinda eh!
, and we end up finding a cheaper or the same priced apartment around!, than i'ma get right overthere and get a 30 thousand dollar car FOR REAL!. if i can't spend 1000 dollars on a house mortgage, i might aswell spend like 600 to 650 dollars (or less would be good) on an EVO or an STI (which i feel i have a better chance with the STI) than I'MA GO FOR IT!. why not right?
Here's some perspective as that I was in your shoes about a year ago. You want basically a 40k car. Your going to be spending 1k a month between payments\insurance\maintence. My advice - at that price point you could buy a 330i and get 5 years of free mait., along with a ride that is not only fun to drive, but can scream pimp at the same time with no mods. Before you say "I really want an EVO", consider what you'll have to do to it in order to get it the way you want it. Nobody and I mean Nobody buy's an EVO because of mitsubishi's resounding track record - they buy it to mod it. So your basically looking to own a 60-70k car when its all said and done but you already said you can't afford 1k a month so its really a dream at this point. My advice to you would be to pay off the civic, because in all honesty I dont care how much you owe on it, or dont owe on it - your going to get screwed on the trade in\sale. I think the BB value on 01-05 civics is like 4-9k relatively and thats in pristine shape. Drive that SOB till the wheels fall off - use it as your play car and when you have the cash and are in the situation when you can afford a 40k vehicle then by all means go for it.
thats cool and all man but why are we STILL talking about an "EVO" here?. for the last 3 or 4 posts, i've been talking about a Subaru Impreza WRX STI. not an EVO. the STI is cheaper than the EVO. there might be more of a chance there with an STI. I've EXTREMELY realized that EVO's are over priced and just way too damn expensive!. I'm also into STI's. and they're cheaper in total price. They might actually be cheaper. like HELL if i EVER in my LIFETIME EVER! pay for a car thats 1000 dollars in total cost (monthly payments and insurance). ****!, thats a rip off!. i've been talking STI's. lets see whats up with that car.
OH, and if i ever got an EVO for real!, i wouldn't mod it cause i'd be too thankful that i got it in GENERAL!. they come pretty much just the way you'd want them RIGHT FROM THE FACTORY!. i wouldn't mod an EVO untill i paid it off or was down to the very last few thousand dollars. they're PERFECT JUST THE WAY THEY ARE.

Here i am again. Believe me man i have been in your shoes for about a year and a half. Basically since ive been out of college. I wanted an STi since i got out of school. I did exactly what your doing now except i just didn't post about it. When it comes to money, im a very conservative person, and having the feeling that I have no money because i owe someone else the money once I get my paycheck sucks a fatty. During this time of money figuring, I found that financing a 34K car is too much for myself and would suck in all my income month to month. With way too much extensive research I found that if i just put away 5 to 6 hundred bucks a month for at least half a year I could be patient and buy the car when im ready and not on a whim. So this is where im at. I have a car that is more then likely going to give me 6K worth of trade in value because i owe nothing on it and i have about 8K of downpayment money ready to go. This makes the car incredibly affordable and a blast to drive without the feeling that i really cant afford this car. Being put into a negative equity is the worse thing you can do to yourself financially because then you are almost forced into getting gap insurance witch is ghey but may be necisary. Wen you can put down enough money to bring it down to how much it will be worth once you take it off the car lot you have made a step in the right direction.
Another thing to think about too is that the 08 STi is going to be redesigned along with the whole impreza line. I think the rumor is that the 08's are going to have about 10-15 more hp then the current 07 STi. So if you save your cash now and hold out for 9 months you can get the bad *** car then. Im ready to purchase my car now so Im not going to wait that long, so the 07 STi will be in my driveway in a couple of months! Just be as patient as you can be, and believe me you will be happier you did and more comfortable with your financial situation.
A place i would highly reccomend becoming a member if your not completly familiar with STi's is IWSTI.com - The Largest STi Community on the Internet! its All STi all the time, lol. But seriously if you read these post on here you will find a great community and amazing information that can aide you in your decision on getting these Ultra-High Performance sedans. Most of the guys on there are very close to our age and are much easier to discuss important topics with compared to this site.
Oh and Mitsubishi is going to be fuggin bankrupt anyway in two years so stay away from them plus thier WRC woes are not improving, so you know what the better car is anyway! Subie>EVO Good luck to you.

hey man i'm good for patience too. i mean, "ALL GOOD THINGS COME TO THOSE WHO WAIT" right?. I'm MAINLY just looking into all of this. and, i didn't know that mitsubishi is having financial problems...?. whats up with that?, is that true foreal?
boy it's hard to get the car you want. even in the 30K price range!. I wonder what kinda cars "one" can get with a credit score of 655 and a good, decent credit history. if i don't end up getting myself a new car than i'ma just get me a bike (motorcycle). I'm always around them, why not. I'm thinking of the 07 Kawasaki NINJA ZX10R. if i can't get a 25 to 30K dollar car, then i'll keep my civic and get a bike too. that'll probably workout better. can't decide though if i should get the RED or BLUE one.

i'm really getting into bikes aswell. i've got much love for them.

well im thinking about trading my civic in for a dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab. my vic sucks in snow. yea vic has good gas milage but the money i am putting into the vic to tune it and upgrade it. ill put it towards gas for the Ram. got a kid on the way. dont need no rice burner anymore. it was fun while it lasted but it is time to move on and get out of the young fast & the furious days
nobody is EVER too old for sports cars OR bikes!. but i'm glad that you are being serious about your baby. a bigger car would probably help you 3 out. but newer HIGHER payments wouldn't.
and i was NEVER in the "fast and furious" days. I'm just me, a brokeass dude that can't upgrade on his civic. i'd rather trade it up and get something NEW that already has all the works!.

4000 lbs + rwd truck = very bad in snow
fwd + 2500lb civic = a little better
awd + turbo = best in snow
who needs traction control when you got 4 big tires and 4 wheel drive = best in snow or any terrain for that matter
Just checked my credit out a few minutes ago and my score is now 802. MY GOD has it gone up!. just thought i'd refresh the topic. i want a Motorcycle sooo badly!. it seems as if i cannot afford a newer car so, maybe a new bike (toy) would be more affordable and managable.
