I think that if you are gonig out to drink, you would have the knowledge to know that your going to be impaired and that you would actually enjoy the thought of a designated driver to take care of your own life, much less everybody else your driving around.
Sorry to hear about the loss dude,
Sorry to hear about the loss dude,
If you drive drunk(EVER) you should lose driving priveleges forever and be locked up for a couple of years. Sorry if this seems a bit harsh, but if you'd been through what I have, you would understand.
Funny, I just heard that 3 people died at UC Berkeley today. I live down the street from that school and my friend just told me that 3 people died driving their cars on the street @75MPH. He didn't give me any details... but just to watch the news at 10... which is 23 minutes from now....
Alright... I just heard it (and it's still on... this lady lost her only child)...
3 guys...
James Logan high school...
In Union City on Union City BLVD goin 75@ night.
They were in one car (can't tell what kind of car it was cuz it went up in flames and there's absolutely nothing left)
... how sad...

I drink...but its responsible.
I obviously don't drive if I'm hammered, but I tend to drink a little bit and then still capable of driving home, I know my limatations, and there is no way in hell I am going to drive home drunk.
People, like anything else need to be responsible, but its kinda hard for these same drunks to do so when they have no self car. Think about the persona of a person who consistently has an alcohol problem, prior DUIs and still continues to be a bar fly and still drives home. Obviously person isn't responsible, obviously person has no self car, and without a doubt this person needs help.

Every year the same thing would happen at my school. Each year it'd be on the announcements that a drunk driver killed someone. sad days.
It'd be either a student was drinking and driving or a student(s) were killed by someone. If i'm out partying with friends I always make sure we have a DD or else i'll be the DD. Too bad people cant take any responsibility.
I absolutely HATE drunk drivers with a passion. They are usually the lowest type of people in society and are immature, irresponsible, stupid, and have no regard for anyone else whatsoever. Unfortunately, the penalties are not severe enough...DWI is only a misdemanor in New York State and will result in a simple six month license suspension on the first offense. Only on the third offense, does the license get revoked and become a felony offense. I believe it should be a felony off the bat. I've gotten several of these losers off the road at work and I've only been an officer for 18 months....please be responsible.

Damn, Kuzyn, that's hard. My condolences. <Putting on "I Wish" by R. Kelly>. Really makes you think about things. <sigh> Accountibility is something that's not taken serious enough in today's legal system.
