Curiosity...
Ok, So Im new here and well I am completely new to this amazing new world. Anyway, with that outta the way. I wanted some feedback as to what I should do first on my car.
I have a completely stock 02 Civic Ex Coupe, it has a factory spoiler and I just put in a Alpine deck, with matching Amp and 10" JL Sub. So basically Im wondering what you would do first with the car.. Things that are my mind are Rims, Tires, Lights, a drop and of course, it needs new paint, Horrendous gold color atm. Any suggestions? I really wanna eventually get to a slick clean look. I know its never going to be a "fast car" but I can dream and atleast I can look good on the trip.
Thanks.

i like the idea of tint, it looks good and is relatively cheap. it really depends on how much money you have lol. Wheels, and a drop are wonderful. What do you mean by lights? Like converting to HID, thats a tough one and probably not worth a first mod, but make sure you do a drop at the same time you get wheels that way you dont drive around 4x4 style. good luck and remember to keep it clean, try to avoid the rice stage, weve all had it but hopefully you dont lol

a lot of people just paint the trim on the inside black, or color matched to your car and that looks pretty good. HID is a type of lighting source that you see on BMW's and other high end stuff. As for tail lights id keep the stock or blacked out, altezza's are not the way to go
Also, Im betting that rims and the drop are prolly going to have to wait til mid January when taxes come back. Im really thinking some 17's but I dont know one brand from another, same with Tires. My friend was saying I should grab some Skunk2 coil overs, for the drop.. But I dont know how far that will go, Im only thinking 1-1.5" This is alot of speculation on my behalf, and I know that I will eventually just have to end up doing it instead of just talking about it.
So HID's are the bright blue lights you randomly see on the freeways at night? I have seen em before in my friends car, and besides the amount of light they give off I really do like the look. So whats a good brand for em?
No I mean old man gold color... it looks like champagne almost. I really dont know the exact color but I could honestly see my grandfather driving my car currently, and thats not cool.

youve got the tan color like my car, i like it lol. you have to retrofit HID's not really a beginner thing to do, if you can find someone to retrofit HID's then go for it. if not research a little and you can find the DIY so to say on retrofitting HID's
Well my neighbor is all about helping me.. His gf and my gf are best friends etc etc.. And he's always dragging me along to go with him to check out his friends cars etc. He drives a real nice Prelude that he's done alot with, so getting him to help me with the lights prolly wouldnt be to hard.
Well I guess my only real big beef with the paint would be, Im not real sure what color rims would look good with the tan. But hey, the car had everything I wanted when I bought it so I wasnt letting the color thing stop me.
buahhahahha dang I remember when I was thinkin bout that =P, haha its funni cuz I started out the same like for instance your sound system, yeah I got an Power Akoustic Amp, 2 JL subs, n a kenwood deck..yay..then moved on to the cai, n then n1 apexi catback exhaust, grill, yellow city lights, ..now wanting a drop, perferably I'd take coilovers over springs..n haha turbo baby =P ..03 civic ex xD
I'll flip out and kill people.

2k2_civic_ex_4d is a member here who is really really good at hid retro's. he did mine and a few other members' lights, and does an OUTSTANDING job. i dunno if he is still active here, i don't think so as i haven't seen him on, but you might try to contact him

I say if you got the cash or credit, chop the top and make it a convertible. A loooooong time ago someone did a photochop of a covertible 7th gen and it was pretty dam sick, in my opinion. Stay away from the fart cans unless you truley desire it, if installed improperly it can melt your bumber and leave black residue all over it. Best way to stay clean is a simple drop, 18" rims, and tint.
