Rep Power: 0 no offense to anyone.. but the only toyota i'd buy is a supra. I've driven the new celica gts, and my boys rsx-s. The Rsx-s did a 15.0 at the track with nothing done to it but exhaust. of course, we've been racing since we were 14.. so i dunno. In my opinion.. the celica doesn't stand a chance..

If that guy said that he pulled off a solid 15 with a Type S, that's pretty good for a Type S... for 30 more HP than the GS-R, it's approximately 1/2 a second faster than the GS-R.

Rep Power: 0 soniCcivic, glad to see u know your stuff. the type-R will roast both the GT-S and the RSX-S. Just cause the type-R is older, doesn't mean anything. The limitedslip w/ 197hp is good stuff. i'm saying though that between the RSX-S and the GT-S, stock for stock, it's all on the driver. people on newcelica.org are hitting mid/low 14's with I/E.
booooohahaha, 200hp vs. 180hp? cmon now...please... a v-6 firebird has 200hp and a lot more torque than both cars. u saying that the firebird is automatically gonna beat a gt-s? no. i spanked a firebird about two weeks ago. gearing, weight, traction, driver, etc. it all adds up. i beat a early 90's mustang gt from 60mph to 120mph(not by much, i could see him at the back of my passenger window about the whole time). And i KNOW that car has a lot more hp than my car. not flaming or anything, i just don't want you to think that the car with more horsepower is always gonna win.
toyota? if your listening, please bring back the supra with the 2jz-gte motor...please... it's ungodly what kinda power that car makes with bolt-ons. my buddy jason has a 94 TT auto with I/E/downpipe and he dynoed in at 387hp and 391 ft/pds of torque at the wheels!!! with crappy tires his best time is a 12.1@127mph. that car not only looks and feels fast, it is fast!!! he just got a front mount intercooler put on. $$$ says he hits 11's pretty easy...

i dunno thats why im asking. i know my friend has a 01 gts and he got roasted by my friends 93 JDM type R hybrid civic. but when they both dynoed it out the civic had bout 168 and the gts had like 175 but the power band was dipped at the beginning and it jumped up at the end.

Rep Power: 0 hmmmmmm... 2jz-gte in the celi... THEN NOBODY WOULD STAND A CHANCE!!! AHHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!*breaks open piggy bank* oh well... maybe one day.
If toyota makes the supra ugly and detune it, i'm probably gonna sell my celica, cry, never buy a toyota again, cry some more, and go get a friggin 97ish civic hatch and cry like a girl all the way into the 11's. TRD and the majority of the aftermarket aren't doing crap to help the celica out. it's getting REALLY old! This is a promise to myself though, if i get beat by a neon srt-4 that cost $16,000 d@mn dollars, i WILL kiss the celi goodbye. i may even consider, dare i say it, a Type-S or R if they come here.
