thanks to everyone!
i just wanted to say thanks to everyone on this site. i've been reading it for about 6 months, and i just finally joined.... anyway, i just wanted to say thanks for all the info and support. i'm FINALLY starting to get the guts to start the journey away from an all stock car. this is the first car that's ever been mine and i love all the support and opinions. i don't know if i'm going to get flamed for this or not, but i just thought i'd say thank you. i don't know $hit about cars or doing mods and this site has helped me out more than you can ever imagine. THANK YOU!!!
oh and... i look forward to helping out pathetic newbies like myself in the future....
Welcome to the site.... now you have to come to the 7th gen meet and you have to drive to either Orlando, Dalas, or Chicago... maybe even Las Vegas. don't worry, it'll be fun.

ok, i already voted to have it in chicago... i'm in ohio, and wouldn't mind a roadtrip, but ya know, the shorter the better.

and although the RSX engine swap sounds nice... i think i'll wait till next week...
all i've done so far is swap out the stock headlights with some PIAA Super Plasmas. (hey, gotta start small and somewhere, right?) i've also got some reverse indiglo gauges on the way, i'm very excited about those... after that? i don't know... i REALLY want to clear my headlights, but i'm way to much of a wuss to even attempt that front bumper removal.
Good to have you as a fellow member, and it's even better that you have been looking at the site and know how things sorta work before you joined. Thats what I did, Just spent a couple months reading and finding out what people have done and how to do a few things!

avenger,
which one is that? is that one of the stealth faces? i've seen those too and they look GREAT. i can't find it on crutchfield or sounddomain. does it have all the outputs for subs and all that? i can't afford to put that stuff in now, but eventually i'll want to be able to do that too. i'm also looking at the pioneer p7400mp, cause its got all the preouts and also has mp3 playback.

gliph - the HU I've got unfortunately doesn't have the MP3, the next model up does. This is my first Sony, I usually only buy Pioneer, but I got a good deal on the HU and a 10 disc changer, so I got it. I like it as far as power, sound, and features, but I can't decide if the FM reception capability bites, or it's the fact our Civics don't have an external antenna. I live about 40-50 miles from the DFW station towers and my reception is not very good on a couple of my favorite stations.
Also, the angle the radio sits in the car makes it almost impossible to see the display during the day in full sunlight.

thanks for the info. i'm not normally a big pioneer person, but what i've seen about the p7400mp it looks pretty nice. i'm thinking for the money it'll be my best bet... and its got one of those new OLCD screen things and i guess it is pretty visible during the day. here's the link in case anyone is interested...

sorry if that link doesn't work, its my first try at it.
I had a chamelean faceplate and those aftermarket radio bays they install suck a$$ cheap as sh*t an I had trouble seein the display durin the day to.. so I lossened the screws a lil the cut the eraser heads of 3 pencils and used them to push the radio into the position I wanted .. then found some thin black nylon cors and put it in the 1/4 inch space made by the eraser heads.. an it actually came out lookin pretty cool... plus I could see it in the daytime better
<< its a 2001 civic ex coupe in blue. i love it. oh and manual trans. is there any other way to go?
>>Hey, that's my car! Good taste!
