Thoughts on importing?
What are your thoughts on importing cars from say, Japan. If I had enough money, I would probably import a mr2 or a FD rx7 now that they are going to be legal to import next year (cars have to be atleast 15 years old to import into canada). I see quite a few r32 skylines around here too, pretty cool.

why would you import a car that you can already get here anyways? makes no sense. MR2's(93-up) are like 4-10 grand in good condition, and the FD's are around 12grand. to import its going to cost probably like 30grand.
Not really, theres sites that do broker sales for you. http://www.importconcern.ca/stock/100278/
With registration fees, and repairs (if needed) it wouldn't really cost a lot. Rx-7s and mr2s go for way higher around here. Plus japanese cars tend to have less mileage, and rhd is jdm y0!
Whats more jdm than getting a jdm car

Yup... join the armed forces. They offered to ship our two Toyota's from Japan to the Philippines where they use RHD, and my dad declined it because it would be an even bigger hassel to convert them.
If you're going to import something, it better not be a rust-bucket.
