yes it doesnt go away, cause in a since its like taking your engine and bolting it straight to your frame. Any vibration you feel come from the engine, and rattle the car. Mostly can be felt in the steering wheel, sinice its virtually free floating.

hasport and other engine mounts are not soft like stock honda mounts, thats why it rattles...

and there's no way to get rid of it ppl... how much does it rattle? well... there's only one way of rattling... imagine a bunch of change in the cupholder, or a can of pepsi, they'll both shake enough to make a lot of noise and annoy you. Also, when you hold on to the steering wheel, you'll feel it on the steering wheel as well.

My seats shake with the Apex'i GT Spec exhaust 3.5" openning.

Thats why I leave nothing in the cupholders or my car. It really gets to me, i guess i'm getting used to it. I need to upgrade my audio system to over power the rattling. I'm going to do it soon...

and imagine no a/c or power steering at the same time LOL

well... maybe you should save up for a used M3 where you get all the luxury, and speed at the same time. Or even an s2k.

Its better to do research if you're looking into doing a swap... specially if you've never done a swap before. I had an H22 EG so i'm aware of these problems, or compromises, whatever you want to call them.

Somethings you should know is that you lose your a/c and its a pain in the *** to make it work. Power steering wasn't too bad to install. Also, yes, the car vibrates like mad. Specially when you first switch it on in the morning.

the rattling can get kinda crazy. the buzzing of panels......argggg. the swap itself can turn into an expensive adventure. it's not for the casual tuner. There's always a little give and take. better engine but the rattling due to the mounts. you just have to see if the positives out weigh the negatives.

For me personally I think, the way my car is now, is still very drivable. I can putz around town or go cruizin on the highway. The only thing killing my fun now my power steering cutting out.

Also, since i'm studying accounting at the moment, by next year, i'll have my CA (Chartered Accountancy) designation. Somthing that crosses my mind is how it will look if i drive into the parking lot in a modified civic, and stepping out of one with a suit. Will that look professional? lol... the other guys will probably driving something better than a civic, though it may not be faster than my civic. "boy's car" vs. "man's car", know what i mean?
my wife is head of accounting and drive the vic to work. everyone else drives benz's and beamers. the way i look at it is we are smarter with our money for having a cheaper payment a nice looking car good gas milage and cheap insurance. after all a car is for transportation although most like to see it as a status symbol. its all personal perception.

just wondering.... is the civic stock?

my cousin works for KPMG and i've been to his office several times. You'll never see a civic in their parking lot. I'm thinking of getting something better once i get a job though. I'll look like a kid driving in with my loud civic. Maybe an M3....

On the topic of civic vrs status symbol, I used to do marketing in the yatch industry, and in that line of work I met some people that had the kind of money that makes most millionares look like like their scraping by to make ends meet.

One customer told me that when he went to florda for the first time in his 8 million dollar boat he felt like he had the smallest boat there.....only beacause he saw about 10 boats in the marina that were bigger than his.

So if a civic makes you feel like a kid or somehow inadequate to some dude in a bmw, then you need to get a Maybach, or Maclaren F1 etc.....and be done with it.

make sure if you do it to fill us in on all the details and progress. That's modding is fun because nowadays you never know what's under someone's hood.

For my personally I'm not about image. Yeah I guess you could say it's classier or it doesn't look as immature rolling in a BMW, JAG, BENZ, etc. I'd like rollin up in something that's more unique and is ME, shows my style. No rice just a clean ride that has some nice touches to it. The only bad thing about that is how many modded civics are out there. It all comes down to personal preference and what car you want to drive has to make you happy. As many people know/have experienced on here, you eventually do grow out of modding. At least the majority i would say do.

Well, it's a good thing for us 7thgeners that most of the Honda community doesn't like our cars, so it's a little easier for us to come out with something different IMO.

exactly! i'm going to keep my civic as something on the side, but i have ambitions to own and modify something like better than a civic.
I mean come on.. give in 10 years, 7th gens will look like *** by then. Lets take an EG for example, they're not exactly ideal in terms of looks.

And i'm not saying its wrong to pull up in a civic, i love my civic. But when you're working for one of the top 5 accounting firms in the world, but just something more... classy. Doesn't have to be a maybach or a lambo, but something decent.

Some ppl end up driving the same brand for all their lives. The thing with me is that i'm not bias when it comes to cars at all because i've driven and owned too many cars... so i tend not to be so loyal to one brand. I'm open minded to other car manufacturers, not just hondas.

I say not worth it. Go get a new Si. They're cheap and they ride pretty good. Dealer lent me one for 2 days I am quite impressed with it. Not sure to get that or the Accord V6 with the 6 speed.

I dont know i kind of like EG's plus people keep doing newer things to the older cars and they keep coming out sicker than before. Its taking the new with the old you know?
