Corvette Z07???
Corvette Z07???
Ok, I was looking in a magazine, and saw a little blurb on something Chevrolet has up it's sleeves... Apparently it's going to be called the Z07. It appears to be a street-legal limited production run of the C6-R racing coupes. Crazy aerodynamics, supercharger, all kinds of fun little goodies. So, we've got an even-more badass Corvette on our hands, if that was even possible. I think the release price was going to be in the $100,000 range. So, once again, Chevy is lowballing the competition. If the Z06 was going after the F430, this one's declared war on the 599GTB.
And I couldn't find any pictures online... I may scan them on the computer out of the magazine, but I doubt I'll care enough.

I disagree. Corvettes always have, still do, and always will have crappy build quality. Their main fault is the fact they are built here in Kentucky ;x.
Name one car that'll get you the performance and daily-driveability of a Corvette. Just one.
Well, I disagree with that. But whatever. Let's not get this into a huge flame-off.

I'm just basing this off of the 8 corvettes my friend has owned, so we won't get into it.
omg, every friggin time someone posts something about a domestic it turns into a "screw domestic my honda is the best car in the world, and i dont understand different wants and needs and markets of the automobile industry"
anyways, i see alot of old people driving civics, in fact EVERY car, so get over it. the corvette backs up its reputation. and who said its 100grand? idiot they start out at like 53 grand i think. and hte z06 is like 65 or sumthin.

Before you start callin people idiots, educate yourself. We're talkin about the Z07 supercar mentioned in the article illustrated above.
S2K, as great of a car as it is, won't hit 196 or run a sub-4 sec. 60. At least not stock.

my bad, i thought he was referring to corvettes in general. either way id rather pay 100grand for that than 100grand for a old ferrari 360 or aston martin, and its much nicer than any viper for that money. would someone on here rather pay 80g for the new skyline gtr?
and s2k is nice, but not as much performance, although more reliable of course.

Wow, all that power and not even a decent wing that will hold the rear end down. I think the Civic Hybrid spoiler is taller then that thing

I never said that my honda was better, or anything like that. I'm just trying to say I wouldn't spend $100k on something with crappy build quality.

have any of you ever owned a corvette? my uncle has had 2. they were both bought brand new and babied. never raced, maintanence done by the dealership, blah blah blah. the first one died about a year after it was bought, and the second one was in the shop in the shop for 4 out of the 6 months he owned the car before he finally gave up on it. so i dont want to hear about the reliability of a corvette. cuz once all is said and done, its an unreliable piece of crap.

I love the sticker "Corvettes are for Old People"... perhaps it's because the middle aged set can... Gee... I dunno... Afford expensive luxury cars?
Also they are popular with that age set because those were the cars they grew up with. Why do you think they brought back (or redesigned) old muscle cars?

Education and a little reading is all that is needed to survive these flaming threads.
I would. I prefer Japanese build quality over American build quality any day... any day.
It's "modified production", therefore it's "modified stock". Or, if we run by your rules, we could consider both a Hamman F430 and a Brabus Rocket as, you guessed it, "stock cars". Both are limited production vehicles.
Understood? Great!
Back on topic. The "SS", "Z07", "Z06-R", "Blue Devil", "Sting Ray", these are all the same. Inside people at GM are calling it now Sting Ray (due to the big smile gleaming on the old GM guys' faces).
Here's a picture of the LS9, which is a LYSHOLM (twin-screw type) supercharged LS3.
[Edit] This is the engine that's supposed to have the supercharged Corvette.
