I think you guys are going about buying a car in the wrong manner. Everyone keeps saying "The dealer offered me...." 1st Rule of buying a car, never ask the dealer for his best price. If you go in there and tell him what you will pay, he can says yes or no. Don't be afraid to walk out. 2nd the prices at intentionally marked high. Sometimes they get lucky and someone just goes in there and pays sticker. Other people go in there and the dealer says.. ok I'll knock $700 off the price. Now you think you just got a good deal by saving $700, when in reality its not nearly as good as you think. Sticker price on a 2dr 2k2 EX manual is $15,530 MSRP $16,950. Now if he says he sells it to you for $16,250 you think you got a good deal but yet the dealer still made at least $720. For what? Filling out some paper work, not like any of use really had to be convinced to buy our cars. You also have to consider Honda gives the dealer about $600/car for maintaining the car before it sold, washing it etc... The shorter the time its on the lot the more of that cash they get to pocket. I have a 2k2 EX Manual and paid $15,830 ($300 over invoice) and he threw in some floor mats, I thought that was more then resonable. The salesman probably made $100 off the sale of my car for about an hour worth of paperwork. Not to mention any other incentives he gets from the dealer. I put no money down and my payments are $335/month for 5 years.

More information would be needed to answer that question. Was it a used purchase? Is the price of 10,200 after a trade-in or a down payment? The cheapest invoice (what the dealer paid for it) is just shy of $12,000. No way you got $1,800 below invoice.

I paid 200/300 below invoice (forget the exact number) for a 01 EX coupe manual, with the 7 year warranty, taxes in NJ and 4.9% APR I am paying 350 for 4 years with $1600 down. This was on Sept 01.
