uhh did anyone watch the civic hatch run with that 10 second viper? from a roll, fwd has little if anything to do with speed. you don't break **** if you build it right. my point was basically that the potential for any car is only limited by money and imagination. that guy cheezefrog is pretty well known on some forums for having an extremely fast hatch. or had, i can't remember if he still has it. that car will run with any 10 second car from a 40-50 mph roll. call bs all you want, do some research. if you build the suspension right, a fwd car can also own on the track. yea it won't beat some cars, but consider the money you will dump in a little econo car like a civic, and the money you will dump in something that is already a beast, + money to track tune it.
Last time I had this much fun some furniture got broken!

Im really just trying to bring home the point that when people say FWD is the worst, they are setting themselves up to look stupid. Most of the time its the best solution, and not everyone thinks their car is a race car.
Im not trying to be rude, im just sick of people assuming that FWD has no strengths cause their "boy's" rwd car is better for racing.

No. FWD is a great setup for the average driver. Its the best setup for the average driver; easier to handle than rwd, cheaper and less power loss over awd, and good enough in all weather. So thats why the average car will remain FWD. A civic is not a race car. Its an economy car, with a little sportiness. So its FWD, no question as to why.
Again, RWD and AWD are NOT better than FWD. They are better in different situations, but neither are better in all situations.
When losing grip in a turn, or in bad weather, RWD is the worst.
When going for economy, or efficiency, AWD is the worst.
When going for performance (puting down the power), or handling, FWD is the worst.
There is no reason why 99% of the people would care, though, as 99% of the people don't think their civic is a race car.
And our civics are great in the winter, despite having little weight to them.
For the average person a car that has enough power to make it move quick, can get 40mpg, ios cheap and reliable, and does well in the snow is the perfect combination. Stop assuming everyone buys a car to race it.

So you just said if you want a performance car FWD sucks. That's my point. Thank You

But when people say that AWD, RWD > FWD you need to specify that its not all the time. People just assume that all the time FWD sucks when it doesnt
Blah blah blah blah blah............ This thread is so dumb. Who cares!!!! The Civic is an econo-box that is slow but reliable. I personally can't wait to get rid of my Civic just because I want something better. Other people might want there's forever, good for them, it's there choice. Can someone just lock this so the stupidity stops???????

when i first got the civic, i hated it because back then i thought civic was the biggest symbol for rice.
after modding it, ive been receiving compliments by friends and neighbors. its simple yet sporty, GREAT gas mileage, and reliable compared to other cars
