not sure... prob just get it inspected and approved... but then again, the old skyline had to go through all the government tests and stuff when the dealers wanted to start importing them.
but i have to say... i bet that smart sports-coupe handles like a mother!

ever heard of MotoRex and the millions of dollars in lawsuits they have now? That was the only company to import any type of newer car legally and sell it in the states. TVR Tuscan Speed 6 R? FORGET IT. The car has no power steering, no ABS and no airbags. It also comes with a 350-400bhp motor, depending on trim.
I personally attempted to legally import a Silvia, and in the process learned just how impossible it is without having EXTREMELY important friends. Anyone have any questions about just how hard it is, feel free to ask.
So in conclusion... this one stays in Gran Turismo for us yanks. The only time you'll see one in the states is in the movie Swordfish. There ain't no way it's ever going to be legal.

I sure wish my car was newer

There have been a few TVRs driven legally on US roads, but only by expatriates. They are allowed to bring a car from their home country to drive for one. Some guy brought over a Speed 12 but had to eventually send it back home.
