Dodge = DSM?
my friend went to the dodge dealer to look at the Durango's cause his dad wanted to get oen and he told me that he looked unferthe hood of the dodge stratus and is had a DSM engine...doesn any1 know anythin bout this? [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

what a bunch of crap

DSM stands for Diamond Star Motors, when Daimler Chrysler and Mitusbishi tried a joint effort on engines, Dodge had nothing to do with it.

calm down neo i no wut dsm stands for cause i have one (99GSX) but all i wanted to knows is does Dodge use there own motors on there cars? well at least all there cars?
ex. honda passport..open the hood it is a suzuki engine

what is there to calm down about [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG] i simply said your friend was full of it.

As far as I know DSM was strictly a venture between DC and Mitsu, therefor dodge wouldnt be using them, unless somebody swapped one in there (which would be doubtful). If it was a NEW stratus hes definatly full of it because the DSM's stopped in 99 (ie the new eclipse is not considered DSM)

i know..but maybe they brought the engine from Mitsu...same deal with the honda passports..honda brought that car from suzuki and changed the name....i just wanted to know if dodge might do something like that [IMG]i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif[/IMG]

Dodge was actually part of DSM, as their Avenger v6 was a mitsubishi engine. But anyways, just think of it as a time when Dodge and Mitsu swapped parts.
