WTF? You can get tickets for that? They don't give out tickets like this unless it's not on a house, has a yellow stripe going down the sidewalk, is a ramp in front of the entrance of a house or is a handicapped space.

This defense seems good, ill make sure to bring it up if I ever get caught.

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not cause I skipped page 2, but I heard that you can get the ticket waved because they don't have proof of WHO was driving the car. So the car has the ticket and not the person who was driving it. This would be a big deal with my family because we have 4 people that drive 5 different cars, so maybe I ran the light but it gives the ticket to my dad since the plate is in his name. Just a thought....
True...but we could just say we don't know who was driving or someone borrowed our car so they can't give the ticket to anyone because they don't know who did it.

1) its considered speed entrapment in the state of CA. therefore, making it illegal
2) no one is to prove who was the driver. (you couldve been driving your fathers uncle in law's car while he was at asia with flight tickets to prove it)

because majority of the drivers on the road (or people in general) aren't aware of what rights they have. LA is a hotspot for camera tickets, but still makes it illegal.
i highly recommend browsing thru this website: http://www.ticketassassin.com/fight.html
here is the argument against red light tickets in general because their considered entrapment: http://ticketassassin.com/docs112384/21453_sample2.html
here is the form if the registered owner wasnt the driver shown in the camera ticket: http://ticketassassin.com/docs112384/21453_sample4.html
and one if you believed you ran a yellow light rather than a red: http://ticketassassin.com/docs112384/21453_sample1.html
like i said, take 15-20min of your time and you'd be suprised of what rights you have against ticket citations. whether its traffic, seatbelt, music from stereo, etc.

when my friend moved to southern california, he cut his first red light ever and got busted. however, it was his dad who received the letter back in northern california, and his dad even had to go to traffic school FOR him, lol

My friend and I were once messing/driving around in Baltimore with our civics and we were approaching a light fast.... well at least I was. Then I saw it turn yellow so I slammed on the brakes. The hood of my car passed the stop line and the camera went off. They probably only got the roof of my car though so I got no ticket in the mail. haha.

I'm glad I live in a state that can't afford to put these cameras into operation. I think there may be a couple in Portland...but that's probably it.
