Got pulled today for my window tint, they measured out at 4%.... :-). The cop was a real dic k about it, he was going the other way and turned around just to pull me over for my tint, this was on a 4 lane road with a grass median. I think he has nothing better to do just because my car is better than his...lol. I was having such a good day too, just got my Apex'i S-AFC in the mail... :-). Oh well there goes another $115.... State Troopers are a bitc h. The county cops liked my car but troopers are ga y.
the price you pay for illegal tint. you knew what you were getting into when you got it done so don't complain too much. if you don't want the risk, take it off and go legal, but what fun is that?
Oh i'm not mad i knew what i was getting myself into when I had it done, just like you said. One part that makes me mad is he started on my Altezza's, i got out of my car and showed him where it said "DOT" legal on my car, he was like "um...oh", i knew he had nothing better to do, he had to meet his quota. But still what a geek. Anyone wanna drive to NC to install a Apex'i S-AFC??? Come on??
i have 5% and the cops here in louisville never bother me. I've never been pulled over before tho, and theirs also so many people with mirror tint all over. I never hear of them pulling anyone over either.

If it happens again, just say it's legal in ____ state and you just moved from there... I don't have that problem because the sunshine state has nice window tinting laws
I gave him the excuse that it was a "show car" and it was legal for show cars. Like the shop that put the tint on for me said to do, but he wasn't letting anything slide...oh well, i guess i pay the price for the tint.

Window tinting laws
I know that the Fla law is not correct on there though, I checked the florida state web page and it says 5% is legal

<< Everyone just get a DR's note saying its for medical reasons u got tints in the front
>>now theres a good idea
as far as the idea about saying you moved from another state, if the cop feels like being a real ***, he could probably find out if that was true or not

ive tried the doctors note on my old car and got pulled over, i had 5% on it and my mom tried it on her new TL Type-S and she got pulled over too, they dont do the sticker here for cancer in mo or ks
the "it's legal in (blank) state and that's where I just came from" excuse does not work. ~ And at that, the officers response is "glad to hear that son, when you get back there you can get the tint again, but now that you are in THIS state... you need to sign this ticket and show up in court on the date at the bottom."
You are subject to the laws of the state YOU ARE IN, not the one you came from. Contrary to popular myth. As the laws are written you are expected to find out if you are illegal before entering the state. If you are, either fix it first, enter knowing you may get nailed or 3, dont enter that state.
I dont mean to be a d1ck... but those are the laws, and it seems that the only people who complain about them are the ones who can't obey them. "The cop was a d1ck..." for what? enforcing the law???? Do you know that nearly every state has a $10,000 fine for INSTALLING illegal film?? That sounds like plenty good reason for a cop to cite someone and track the source of the film.
Oh yeah... cops dont have qoutas... the job isnt to cite people, it's to protect them and get shot at for a crappy $30,000 (and less in some places!!!) a year. Notice cops are always "a55holes" unless you actually want one?? ~ like when the girl with the black tinted windshield rear ended you at a stoplight at night time?? THEN you'd be hollering "GIVE HER A TICKET!! SHE HIT ME AND HAS ILLEGAL TINT!!" ~ No I am not a cop ~ my user name says it all.
