How is Midas for brakes?

Has anyone had brake pads replaced at Midas? How were they? I am due to have them replaced and I can't do it myself. How about any of the other chains like Firestone? Or is a reputable local mechanic the best bet?

In my experiance from with my dad's old mazda mpv, I would say crap. Went back like every 2 years and lifetime warrenty on pads my a$$. With the warrenty when I went back to get new ones, everything cost more then the first time I changed it. So we took it to local small mechanic shops and they were alot cheaper. So Im gonna say away from these places for for these maintence things.

The brakes at the dealer is also extremely expensive. You should try some local shops.

The Midas in my area does good work. I take my parents minivan there to get brakes done.
