2003 SI - 2003 Ex = $3,799
2003 SI - 2003 Ex = $3,799
So i went to see how muhc i'd get on a trade in, for a 2003 blue Civic Si with 27,000 miles on it. In near perfect condition. And after trading in my 03 ex with 50,000 i was looking at 3,799 out the door cost.
Thats with the Si costing 13,799. Soes that seem like a good deal? every where i look it's always atleast 1.5k more for something with more miles.
I know the motor is much eaier to get Hp out of. Is 190 doable with Basic mods?
I know nothing about this motor.

190 N/A is doable absolutley. Take a look at ephatch.com There is a guy named Raz selling "Raz cams," and without a full blown tune they were making almost 200 hp with I/H/E and kpro. If you're going boost and want big numbers, the number one killer of the A3 is crankwalk, so watch out for that. =)
test drove it today........ Wow it feels so much smoother then my EX. The added more makes keeping up with the rushed crowd at the light, so much eaier. and people won't look at me like i'm trying to race cause my RPMS are so high.

i/h/e/hondata is good for another 20whp. you start at 140, 160 is very easy, 180 gets more expensive, and 200 lots of engine work and tuning.
The one I test drove has A neuspeed air intake in it. IT was a nice tone, and only loud when i floored it. Beautiful car. The worst thing is a new shop is opening up right behind my house. And i mean right behind my house. We share a backyard. "Street legal customs". If i get an Si i have a feeling i'm going to have to take a part time job there to be able to afford all the stuff i'm going to buy from them.
I'm buying a 03 Si from a Ford dealer for 13,900 with 27,00 miles on it. But it's not certified. The dealer said that they could send it to Honda for me to get it certified. So i have 3 questions
1, is it worth 800 bucks to get the extra warranty?
2, Will they certifie the car if it doesn't have the stock airbox? this car comes with a neuspeed intake.
3, is it worth certifing it if i plan to do bolt on mods such as I/H/E, will this Void my power train warranty?
Any help would be great. I'm really looking forward to driving a Si
Oh one last thing. Is the insurance going to be a lot more for an Si then a 2dr Ex. I have a 03 2dr Ex right now. And i was thinking i would be paying a little more, but i don't know how much. I would just like an idea before i call up the insurance company monday.

It's just not worth getting extram warranty, If you are planning to mod.
Sounds like you are planning to do.
I/H/E will not void warranty, unless they have caused problem.
My insurance only went up $15-20 every month, from 02 Ex to 03 SI.
It's different for each company and drivers, so double check on that.
But it's not much of differences.
