99-00 was the only Si to not be a hatchback. You will not see a 7th gen coupe.

Unless you do a motor swap yourself.

i know this is common sense... but you think with all the aftermarket parts for the 7th gen. civic... it will live up to or be better than the 6th gen. civic's???

maybe eventually.... IMO, i think our selection of aftermarket parts will be similar to SOHC 6th gens. it might not be as good as the 6th gen since our engines are different from them in some ways

Probably not, the Si is imported from the UK in the same plant that makes CTRs for the European market. I don't think they even sell couples in Europe so they would need to re-design the plant to make coupes which would only be exported to the US. (there's not much market for Coupes or Sedan's in Europe)

Bottom line: if you want mods, buy the Si. The EX aftermarket will be heating up soon too, but EVERYBODY modifies the Si's. I haven't seen a stock 6th gen Si in at least a year. The aftermarket always goes crazy for the Si, no matter what it looks like. And no, they wont make a coupe version of the Si since all coupes are made in ohio and that plant has probably never seen a K20 motor.

i beg to differ. The reason you wont see a coupe is because all Si's before 99 were hatchbacks. When the 6th gen coupe Si came out, ppl complained it wasn't a hatchback. Now everybody loves the coupe...its just ppl can't make up their damn mind, so Honda can't please everyone. My money's on the 99-00 Si being the only coupe trim to be made.

Opinions are like .. Well, you know.

Hatchbacks are more popular worldwide than any other kind of car. In Europe they sell more hatches than all other kinds of cars combined. The Coupes are usually there but never see well because of ther lacking in practicality (the ability to fit amazing amounts of stuff in it)
