if anytime someone tells you that F1 cars aren't as fast and they're cracked up to be, just show them this video.

I sure hope no one tells anyone that F1 cars aren't "all their cracked up to be". F1 is the pinnacle of automotive technology and performance. Nothing can compare to the stratospheric performance of those cars. They are truly amazing machines.

people that aren't automotive enthusiasts can make some pretty strange assumptions about cars.

Whoever would doubt that F1 cars aren't the faestest overall cars in the world are retards. I remember watching somewhere a F1 drag racing an F16 Jet. The Jet only pulled in front of the F1 car about a mile down the track or so. Amazing to watch, wish I remembered where I saw it...

What it comes down to is that Formula 1 is the absolute best form of racing in the world. Its the best racing in the world. Gran Prix qualifying events are more interesting than most other car races.
I am watching IRL (Indy) right now and they are fast, but compared to the F1 you could have watched last night in Australia, they cannot compare.

this is probably the 3rd different version ive seen of this "test". the one that "top gear" does is by far the best one.
i think that one they had some regular car...like an alpha romeo or something, then an f40, then the f1 car.

I may never do F1, but I am definatly going to do some formula races in a few years. Once I get out of college I am surely going through racing school and getting into racing as much as possible. F1 is my ultimate dream, but racing professionaly is my real goal.
Now all I need is track time and $$$. lol.

Bertil Roos racing school at Pocono Raceway. I live right now about 1 hour from Pocono. When I graduate I will look for a job around Philadelphia/King of Prussia area. So I should be no more than 3 hours from the track with parents less than 1 hour away.
If I have the time, when not saving for that school or for racing with them, I might try to do any karting I can get into, too
