I put 80000 miles on my F150 4x4 (188000miles) never stranded
75000miles on my svt focus neverstranded but did have tuning issues do to supercharger install.
61000miles on my mustang (162000) never stranded
43000miles on my dodge ram(236000miles) stranded once then sold it
68000miles on my honda civic(68000miles) stranded 6 times due to transmission, cv joint, transmission again, computer, wiring, and out of gas because the gas tank lid wouldn't open. Plus lots of surging and cutting off unless the AC was on????
Point is every car has its problems. And my fords never really gave me any major...but I know that the hondas and acuras have really really good reliablity but so do fords dodges and chevys(they do not just suck)...AS LONG AS YOU TAKE CARE OF YOUR CAR IT WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU.<---period
Did you have to ask?
I love all you guys who say rsx all the way and give no reason. Now don't get me wrong, i love rsx type s's, my buddy has one with dc rh, hks hipower catback, motor mounts, and an intake, and that thing is fun as hell to drive. To those who say the mustang feels loose, i know that it was the motor mounts, but that rsx just about gave me a headache from sitting in the car at idle. But for all you guys who say the mustang won't last, have you ever even owned one? If you have, how well was it taken care of? Now i'll agree, the rsx is def. more reliable, but when it comes to speed, there is no question here. And if it was to break, thats because the mustang has actual torque, unlike MOST honda's. Torque is very hard on cars. There are so many bolt ons that can be done to that mustang, and you can do most of them in your driveway. Buy an 03 cobra longblock, slap on an 99 or 01 cobra intake, and slap on a Hellion Power Systems turbo kit, instant 847 rwhp. And you already have the solid axle. Thats enough power for a 9 sec car, and idles like it rolled off the showroom floor, still gettin 20+mpg. Show me an rsx that can do that.
And this is all my opinion, but i think the 99+ are one of the sexiest body style mustang made. Nothing like one with a 2" drop, and some 18" deep dish fr500's.
But in the end, i know you already bought the rsx, just wanted to make ya feel bad, haha j/k.

And for those of you who say mustangs can't handle, they can be made to handle just like any other car. Maximum motorsports, Griggs, and Kenny Brown, all make suspension kits for mustangs. I personally know of two fox bodies here in cincy, that run in american iron, and dominate that class, running up against bmw's, porsche's and vette's. Their names are greg brown and paul faessler
funny how one of the biggest american car company(gm) was being bought out by.......toyota.
any american car is fukin JUNK, ask ANY mechanic. you'll prolly. get one out of 10 thats ok with american crap. ford.....found or repair daily. pos junk, not worth a penny

stock mustang can't hang with a stock civic in turns. at all. same year, and all of course. comparisons have to be fair. and modded the same, the mustang still is no match. in turns of course. it cant handle as well as a smaller more agile FWD car.

Statistically, you would have to have bought at LEAST 32 mustangs, in order to have something even close to being reliable numbers.
Buying a car for reliability is much like playing the lottery. With a car such as a honda or toyota vs a ford or GM, you have a MUCH BETTER chance of getting a car that will have lesser or no problems if you buy the honda or toyota. This is simply statistical fact.
That doesn't mean that you can't buy a lemon of a honda, or that you can't get a gem of a ford. It's simply playing the odds. If someone offered you a lottery ticket with a 1 in 1000 chance of winning the grand prize, and then someone offered you a lottery ticket for the same grand prize but at a 1 in 10,000 chance, which would you take? The point is both manufacturers have "winners". But your chances of getting a "winner" are better if you buy a honda/acura/toyota.

how come people that own hondas and acuras are so funking sensitive about mustangs and camaros. we are all car guys and girls why are there such grudges.?
If you want to get into the facts...LOOK UP THE 4.6 (modular motor) and see that it is the least waranteed motor ever built.<---thats a fact.

actually, i'll help you out. the mustang was the car with the fewest problems per vehicle BY A US MANUFACTURER. so no, sorry, it didn't beat the import boys.
The 2004 Ford Mustang was the most reliable car made by a U.S. manufacturer
Also, that's just the 2004 Ford Mustang, which was BETTER at the problems per vehicle rates than the previous 4 years of the same model.
It is noteworthy that the Mustang seems to be the most reliable american car you can buy. But sorry, it's not more reliable than the best imports. And in fact, the Acura RSX DOES BEAT the mustang in problems per vehicle.

so next time, research your facts before you make inaccurate statements.

just to let everyone know I read in a consumer reports magazine a year ago that the FORD modular (4.6l) is the least warrantee motor in production.
